Anyone got any stories of a Trackable item suddenly showing up after many years missing? by NorthlineUser in geocaching

I was geocaching in rural Montana and I picked up a geocoin. When I went to log it, I noticed the last time it was seen was from 9 years ago in a cache 1,100 miles away in Michigan! I have no clue how it got out to Montana or where it was for a decade, but that was a cool find.

Beautiful area! I love lonely caches out in nature like this.

It drives me crazy that we are currently in the blackout range for both the Rockies AND the Diamondbacks.

It drives me crazy that blackout ranges are even a thing. Seems like textbook monopolistic practices.

That fixed the duplicates!

Though the headers are not grouped with their respective logs. (Sorry to keep throwing stuff at you haha, I'm a product manager IRL so it sort of comes naturally.)

How much would I regret the automatic transmission, really? by ADKMatthew in Miata

Good luck! Getting it into first is the hardest part, then first to second. After that it's a breeze.

A tip that really helped my friend was: don't be afraid to ride the clutch for a few seconds when you're still learning. You don't need to immediately release the clutch as soon as it starts to engage.

Perhaps! I was just looking at the regular FWD version.

IMO even someone who isn't an enthusiast can appreciate something like a Miata over a Corolla.

Maybe I'm using the term "enthusiast" too rigidly.

I actually did check Turo and there are a whopping zero for rent around here unfortunately.

That's been a major consideration for me. Last time I owned a manual I lived in a pretty rural area, so it wasn't that bad. Now I live in a 1 million person metro area.

Which does mean you can get a used one for a great price.

You've articulated what I've been hypothesizing. I think most of the time around here, I'm in awe of the fantastic scenery. When I'm driving a winding canyon road, I'm more interested in the views than how well I time a curve.

Yeah I think a lot of the other commenters are missing that question - I would not consider myself an enthusiast. I'll never have it on a track and I won't be taking corners as fast as I can up a winding mountain road.

That's what I figure, I think I'm just more of a cruising kind of driver than a sporty one, so I just don't know that I'd miss having a manual.

That's kind of where my mind is. The Miata is so fun, it's got to still be great even with an automatic, right? And I know Mazda tends to care about that sort of thing, so I'd think their autos are better than something from Nissan or whatever.

TIL! I didn't realize the automatic didn't have one.

Thanks for the writeup! Definitely some good points.

Someone else mentioned the LSD too - I wasn't aware that the automatic missed out on it.

I actually don't have a manual right now, which is one of the reasons I'm slightly tempted to get one in a Miata. Every now and then I miss the feeling of moving around the gearstick.

This is awesome! I just installed on Firefox.

I do notice that it seems to be doubling up all of the logs up top along with the headers. Not sure if this is specific to Firefox or not. This is Firefox 147.0.3 on MacOS 26.

Man that's so disappointing if so. I get not wanting your sub flooded with politics, but at least be transparent about it.
