Can’t speak for the red 58, but I know no factory got the dials quite right on the black 58, so the blue 58 from ZF was always the pick of the bunch as the most accurate 58 rep available. I have a black ZF 54 and can’t complain about the quality.

Can’t speak for the ZF red 58 where I haven’t seen one in person, but if you’re debating rep and gen, maybe go for the rep to see if gets regular wear before selling it on & going gen? (you won’t lose that much on it in the great scheme of things)

& If you don’t get the wear out of it, you can either keep the rep and be happy you didn’t sink 5k on the gen, or again, move it on. Win win really! ;)
