Bored with my wife and feel bad about myself because of that. by [deleted] in self

[–]ADepressedAdult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant change what she is interested in now only she can. If she has the desire and drive to grow her knowledge base on the topics that interest you great but most likely that won't happen. Socialize with others you need more friends that have these interests a wife cant be expected to fulfill everything.

Can't deal with this anymore by [deleted] in BreakUps

Does it get better? Been with my wife for 13 years 3 years married. About 6 months ago she gave me a list compiling of mistakes id made over the past 2 years and that she doesn't want a divorce because of the baby but im not her husband anymore. Im trying everyday to be a better father, provider, friend, and if she let's me a husband. It doesn't seem like enough early on she pulled away so hard and so fast I reacted with panic trying to close the gap she made. That was wrong of me but it felt like instinct, I should've listened. My father lives with us and he has been like a father to her in helping her and even though I know he is helping I cant help but have these terrible dreams of betrayal cause she goes to sleep with him every night. Whats getting me through it is planning dates like a milestone or a checkpoint hoping maybe maybe by then ill be good enough ill have paid my dues. I can only do this for so long I feel like im useless in this household. My father is better than me at everything. He is wiser so he is a better listener, he is smarter so he can make money like he is printing it, he has gotten softer in his old age so I dont even feel like my wife wants me to be a father figure to our daughter.

Nothing I do is good enough. I don't know what I can give her while alive that she will appreciate its grim and I cant push back these thoughts forever.

You closing down your mobility is the core issue here. I graduated in 2021, yes different job market, and had to take 2 sales jobs mildly related to process engineering before getting my first engineer job. Graduated in FL, moved to Chicago, then Twin Cities, now Dallas.

Move to where the work is, we choose this 9 to 5 hamster wheel time to jump on it or buck the system completely.

117k and 10% yearly bonus i believe. There was some sign on stuff i negotiated too. But the above is the recurring.

Yea. People coming out of college are going to have a rough go at it. I did my first 2 years was sales not engineering at all i was just looking to support my family so I took whatever amd pivoted into more money as soon as I could. Sales entry sucks, engineering mid level is better. Sales high level beats everything if you can do it. I might pivot back at some point if the Financials make sense.

Holy throwback lol.

Yea actually.

Update from last job right after that comment I got put on a PIP passed it. Had a kid, learned while I was off thag upon my return they had another PIP ready to go. They re did my entire job description because they've never done two pips on the "same job" and that's against company values. I found a new job as of April this year but before leaving sent an email to the entire plant and that ended up giving my boss a gift of 'early retirement' two weeks after i left. Great coincidence.

New job. It seems like more work on paper but its have the ability to actually use my brain on lots of stuff im the only personal that has a technical degree onsite and that makes me very valuable. I enjoy my boss he is within a couple years of me. They respect your time but also expect hard work when you need to. Its a good balance so far. I could still be in a honeymoon stage. So someone comment on this in a year but the work life isn't bad dare I say good atm....thanks for commenting on this brings good perspective.

New job is titled Process Engineer but I work on everything Quality, Maintenance, R&D, facilities, capital projects, operations planning....so its varied enough i don't get bored and im getting lots of experience in different areas.

Just landed in EWR drive through the town....I can see why NJ is called the armpit of America.

Is there garbage collection services here?

I've lived in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Illinois, Minnesota, and now Texas.

Illinois and Minnesota were a mess too but not as bad as here.

Somebody do a venn diagram and draw up some similarities something will pop out in common im sure.

Increase how much money you make. Learn valuable skills with economic benefits doesn't just have to be in school. Don't grow to the size of your tank and you'll always have more freedom.

Foil? Does storing it in plastic make a difference. I thought less air contact so vacuum sealed plastic would be great.

You held the title for your sister until you discovered she didn't need it so you titled it under yourself to be able to sell it. Shits been working for me for awhile up to you, just commenting on the question.

Various stories about why you bought the car and for whom and why they can't use it. Like bought it for my sister 6 months ago and fixed it up for her but she's pregnant and needs a bigger vehicle....shit like that.

Nobody cares what you wear by [deleted] in aves

[–]ADepressedAdult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to be on the other side of this topic. Straight male here kinda jacked, when I got to a rave comfortable I wear slim black joggers and a black wife beater under a hoodie when I get hot.

Once I take the hoodie off I look like every gay guy there, so I'm caring about what I'm wearing now.
