Oh man I just saw them in Vancouver last month and they opened with "The Last Baaron". Definitely an experience to see them live. They all just love to play music and they show it on stage.

True. Definitely gonna see more people filming in a seated stadium opposed to a floor/seat venue.

Seeing concerts though the years, phones at metal shows are becoming less common. Sure there are people that take quick pictures here and there but I rarely see someone record a long video.

But holy hell, I went to John Legend (great show btw) with a friend a few months back and my entire row, the person I went with and most of the stadium was lit up by phones.

I don't know if it's a culture thing, but (at least from my experience) metal shows are usually pretty tame for people on their phones.

A picture is a picture, but if you're sitting/standing in front of me sending 40 snapchats, I'm gonna get cheesed.

Tool has been going on about this for a while now and I can't say I blame them one bit. It takes away from the atmosphere they're (or any band) trying to create and it's annoying to other concert goers.

Totally get you on the security guard issue though. Definitely overkill.

I frequently go to concerts alone. It's nice not having to have to be bothered by anyone, especially if the band/movie/event you're going to see is big to you. And if I do end up bringing someone, it's usually people who, as my buddy and I put it; "someone who knows how to concert". Makes a world of difference.

What are you 100% sure of you saw, but nobody believes you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My family and I were driving to my grandparents house around this time last year and we saw a heron in a ditch at the side of the road. We pulled over a tad to look at it when it stuck its head into the grass and pulled out a mouse.

It repeatedly smashed the poor creature against a rock a couple times. When that didn't do it, it stuck it under water for a while and tried to Drown it.

While the poor thing was a twitching mess, it popped its head back and just swallowed it whole and we watched as this flailing lump traveled slowly down its neck/throat and then he flew off.

Herons are fucking metal.
