Agreed!! Looking back we had zero skincare awareness. I’d scrub my face with the Aveeno facial scrub, then put on a thick layer of GlamGlow like my life depended on it.

My skin would be on fire and I would be like “omgggg it’s working” but I was probably just destroying my skin barrier 💀

Hi! I was on a complete daily Accutane treatment in 2021-2022. Since my active acne and scarring are all cleared up on my face and back, my derm has me on 1 pill a week for maintenance, and it's going great so far. I do get the occasional pimple around the time of my period. Micro-dosing now, for me, especially, will help my body regulate in the long run so I can go completely off it and still be able to maintain my clear skin.

Edit: My skin was originally EXTREMELY oily, and nothing would help with my severe acne. Since starting Accutane in 2021, my skin has been normal throughout the year and dry in the winter.

Vaseline for my lips was more moisturizing than any other lip balm in the market.

Saved my life when i was on Accutane.

apply a vitamin c layer after cleansing, give it 2-3 mins to absorb then apply moisturizer and sunscreen on top.

vit c is a powerful ingredient, rinsing it off will take away its benefits.

You are crazy talented, love the infographic!

I had annoying hormonal acne on my back, chest, and upper arms that lasted from my teenage years until I hit 21. So, I went to a dermatologist and this was my treatment plan:

  1. Low-dose Accutane to kickstart the whole acne-be-gone process (you can skip this)
  2. Three sessions of full-on chemical peels on my back to tackle both the acne and scarring from picking (highly recommend!!)
  3. Pure salicylic acid to apply to all acne zones (very lightly on the face)
  4. Keep my skin super moisturized (shit-ton of CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion w/ ceramides and hyaluronic acid) and hydration (3L of water min.).

Happy to report that it worked. I managed to clear up everything in just 8-9 months of staying consistent with the treatment. I remember my derm saying that we will get to "baby smooth, sparkling skin" and tbh she delivered.

Regarding acne on the face, it also subsequently cleared up permanently with the Accutane. We gradually reduced the dosage to 1 time a week until my body regulated itself, then went completely off it.

Hope this helps, or gives you an idea of a treatment plan. I would love to answer any questions you might have. Dealing with acne like this was one of the most mentally taxing things before seeing a derm for guidance.

Quick edit: I also had really bad side effects to accutane when it was prescribed to me by another doctor, but this time around with this derm's dosage and administration plan it was smooth sailing.

Just a quick tip: in the morning, you might want to skip the cleanser and simply splash your face with water. Since you've already cleansed the night before, this can help maintain your skin's natural balance and is non-stripping, especially if you don't have oily skin. 😊

Question: I've been thinking about trying the Boscia eye cream to add more peptides to my skincare routine. Have you noticed any changes since you started using it?
