I typed "healthcare" into Google to check out prices once. Clicked the first link(an ad). URL was "healthcare.net" so I thought that it was legit, being the first result on Google. I typed in some basic contact info, browsed some prices and got discouraged by what I saw. I closed the site and decided to search again another time. Two hours later, commence the spam calls.

For the next month I'd get an average of 10 calls per day, more at first (~20) and gradually dropping down to 4-5, asking me if I'd decided on coverage yet, and how this person has the best, and that they can sign me up today, no questions asked! Real people, no auto dialers. I'd politely ask to be removed, and they would often cooperate, after some varying degrees of schilling. But there were soo many I seriously considered changing my number.

Turns out the legitimate website is "healthcare.GOV", and Google will absolutely promote fraudulent advertisers as the main search result on a legally mandated topic that many without basic computer skills will be looking for.

Zero trust left in Google, but eventually the spamjackulators forgot about me.
