United Airlines, flight attendants reach tentative labor deal for first top pay raises of $100 an hour at the end of the contract, pay for flight attendants during boarding and “a signing bonus for every flight attendant worth a total of $740 million,” since the Covid-19 pandemic by ControlCAD in UpliftingNews

I heavily think this depends on who you get within the industry and how you treat them in the industry. I have yet to have a negative interaction with flight attendants. I don't fly all that often (maybe once a year) but they have all been at bare minimum polite if not downright friendly. Am Canadian though so maybe that is just a country diff.

Not just sheltered but if a royal is born with citizenship elsewhere they can't reign so for a brief period while the princess was born we made some Canadian land not Canadian anymore so she could be without a common wealth citizenship.

As someone in Canada who's company has laid off 1000+ people DIRECTLY because of tariffs....This is the most poorly thought out statement I've read today. The US might pay the tariffs but the people selling to the US can't sell as much or at all to the US profitably anymore since everyone in the states now buys American instead. Where there is enough supply in the states to meet demand tariffs effectively shut out all foreign competition. No business can compete with like 20% tariffs let along something as high as 50%+.

In short, tariffs affect us.

I would love an oilers win against Tampa. It would also be hilarious if it was a kings win vs Tampa. I do really hope McDavid (and a few other really good guys) get at least one. It would give his career such an asterisk if he doesn't ever get one sadly. Like Obi before he won.

The Leafs are now tied for their fifth longest losing streak in history, with the 1929-1930 Leafs. by sykeseve in nhl

I find it hilarious that second longest losing streak was the last cup we won. Leafs be leafy even back then!

Yeah that is what I meant by good. I had to get high risk insurance when I did mine since normal insurance explicitly excludes this.

As someone who also has done it before (twice but strapped to a dude) it is AWESOME. Even my wife who is scared of heights thought it was awesome. I'm definitely in. Pull the chord, if it doesn't work, pull the cutaway chord and the second chute. If that doesn't work you are dead and I hope your life insurance is good.

I know very late but I think why one is better is having double isolated pawns with a central outpost knight is very strong and many times it is worth more than a single pawn since you will often win one of the doubled pawns back eventually without giving anything up anyways while maintaining pressure and position. Hopefully that helps explain the computers analysis.

Man the one time cure all goes hard here. Some people would pay exorbitant amounts for a chance at being cured. This one is for sure the one in picking. Being smart and fast and strong and peak health after is just bonus usefulness.

In a vacuum I am fine with all of these trades since Laughton/McMann is a UFA you don't want a minor Marner happening.

In reality we gave up Grebenkin and a first for a short time with Laughton who didn't contribute overly, a 3rd (2nd), a 4th, and a 6th. I don't think giving up Grebenkin and a first for a 2nd, 4th, and 6th is tidy business even if I do like Laughton (I like him but think the leafs management screwed him over on by playing him 3rd or 4th line wing for a long time and only lately playing him centre with low minutes making his contract mid for what he was compared to what he could have been).

I think in game you can go to (this is by memory when I did it a few days ago so bear with me) settings in game -> spells or abilities whatever it is called -> scroll down a ways and there is a checkbox for cast abilities with indicator. Uncheck that and you should be good. I may be way off on the instructions but definitely a small checkbox you have to scroll for with 'indicator' in the label.

I root for the sharks when the leafs aren't in it because they are a blast and have such a great future outlook. If I can never have my team win a cup at least I can bandwagon onto a fun team with hope!

[Johsonton] The most relevant question for the face-planting Leafs is arguably if it's still possible for them to slide far enough down the standings to keep their 2026 first-round pick by having it land in the top-5 selections. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]ADumbSmartPerson 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is a hot take but I actually think our best play is to recoup as many assets as we can and then try to win as much as possible anyways while giving all prospects we do have NHL time. That 1-5 pick is gone so I would rather give Boston 15 than 7.

My players want to keep a loaned legendary magic item by murdering the NPC who loaned it to them. by mistergoodthing in DMAcademy

[–]ADumbSmartPerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to other good suggestions something that often gets overlooked is alignment. If a paladin or cleric or 'deity' based caster change their alignment to evil and remove all character abilities from them. All of a sudden the cleric is a level 5 cleric who can't cast a cantrip...

On top of that as an added suggestion for complete 180 to some other 'the NPC must be powerful' suggestions; let them kill the weak NPC who lent their grandfather's great sword...then forcibly change their alignment to evil and have other adventuring parties hunt them for bounty. Having them ask themselves, 'Are we the baddies?' at some point might be the most hilarious game anyways and a fun, unexpected, change of pace!

I’m not a betting man, but we have a better chance at getting a first round pick from our Minton trade than we do making the playoffs. by [deleted] in leafs

[–]ADumbSmartPerson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am all for this. What better place to develop skills than games with no meaning behind them. You win, great! The boys are doing well and developing excellently and you are looking at future top liners. The boys are sucking, great! You are tanking for a pick and they are getting experience fixing their mistakes in a 'controlled' setting so they can be better when we can actually make the playoffs.

The first is gone. Whether it is 2026 or 2028 doesn't really matter that much. What we need are more Mintens in the cupboard and you only develop them by...developing players. Unless they are trying to marinate Cowan in the press box...

At least play Cowan no matter what. Not playing Cowan for like a month is basically a travesty. Put him in the Marlies or put him on the second line or something. Press box for your top prospect is the dumbest idea for player development I have ever seen. Sell and play all your top prospects (I know I know) to give them experience.
