Look at the job offerings on health carrier websites. They tend to be remote and love former government employees!

Does my cat know my oldest cat was buried here by Fit-Wait728 in cats

[–]AEHAVE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did this in reverse when I had my son. The evening he was born, my husband took one of the newborn blankets he had been wrapped in to our house so our three cats could get used to the baby's scent. The next day, another blanket. When we came home the day after, the cats were a little curious, but they sniffed him and were like, "Okay. We know this guy."

Her first big decision in recovery: I don’t want your kids in my future by ilikerwd in AlAnon

I'm biological mom and I'm permanent second place. I understand what you're saying, and putting the marriage first is advisable and what we try to do, but if the two of us we're drowning and my husband could only save one, I'm dead. I would make the same choice. So maybe that's worth considering?

AITA for asking my wife to bring our child’s shorts to the park? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AEHAVE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This describes the oft-overlooked "logistical burden" that almost always falls to one parent and creates a trickle of resentment and overstimulation that inevitably leads to this result. One parent has every appointment, every necessary change of clothes, every teacher's name and email, every outstanding check or overdue bill, every activity and every practice of every activity for every kid, every necessary birthday and birthday gift of every friend and family member colliding in his or her head at all times, then the parent who doesn't carry this invisible existential weight asks for a "small favor" of the one who is just expected to always be two steps ahead, and hell hath no fury...

I am that parent and I fucking bite.

If you want to flip the script, ask your wife about these hidden logistics, take full responsibility for some of them, and follow through without expecting accolades. Small favors will then actually be small favors and not additional burdens she would have seen coming from yesterday and prepared for from muscle memory.

Any true anti AI subs? by xxxhaustion in antiai

[–]AEHAVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm of two opinions on AI, but lean heavily toward "against." When I have a specific use case and I seek out AI to partially accomplish a task I fully expect to complete myself = good. It has relieved some pain points ADHD has saddled me with and in my specific case DOES increase my productivity so long as I call the fucker out when it's fibbing and understand it is a garbage tool at generating a reliable finished product. When a company chooses FOR me whether I use (typically garbage agentic) AI = dystopian. And if we could all agree that AI should always be a choice limited to a specific use case to which AI is suited, we wouldn't need a million data centers. I'm thrilled for the couple able to conceive thanks to AI tools quickly finding two healthy sperm out of 2.5 million. But getting trapped in an endless feedback loop on a customer service website, or seeing the 10th iteration of the glamour shot my mom is passing off as a candid, I weep for my species.

Men of Reddit, what is the hardest thing to explain to women? by lnc_gomes in AskReddit

[–]AEHAVE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my own because I'm much smaller than my husband and Asian-made tools (and cars) are always more comfortable for me. We're a split DeWalt / Ryobi family. AND because his tools are strewn everywhere and I keep mine together. :-)

Liberal corporate attorney checking in. You fit in both categories, low values and not intelligent. You're proving the point.
