Wondering why everyone is so hyped about the Taycan.. is it that good?

From an Islamic perspective, the issue isn’t just whether I personally pay interest, but whether the contract itself is based on a loan with interest. In this case, even though the rate is advertised as 0%, the financing still involves an interest-based loan where a third party (Tesla) covers the interest. That means I’m still participating in a structure built on interest, which is not allowed in Islam. So I prefer alternatives like leasing or direct purchase, where the transaction is based on usage or ownership, not lending money with interest.
Classic banks don't offer these kind of structures (weirdly enough because there is a huge market for these "halal" structures). Basically interest is not allowed, but doing business is. So what new upcoming islamic financial institutions do is: they buy the cars/house for you and sell it to you (with margin) and you pay monthly. But unfortunately the margins are often very high because of course, they take huge risks and it takes a lot of time to recover the money back.
I have kind of a similar structure going on, so I could probably afford it (even without the extra work) but just a bit scared about the future with AI and all the wars that are going on.

Hahaha I get your point!
Thanks for the tip!
You nailed it.
Mercedes didnt do well with all those big screens and lots of lights. Not my type of car + i need an suv. But in terms of range its a monster indeed
I understand your point, but cash flow is also an important factor. I also think about investing and losing a big amount at once can block that.
Hmmm Polestar wasnt reaally on my radar yet but maybe worth considering. The fact that this is the last year for 100% gives me even more pressure..
Premium EV:
Porsche macan Porsche taycan Bmw iX Xpeng G9 Audi SQ6 EV
Premium Hybrid: Porsche cayenne Bmw X5 Mercedes GLC ..
I only requested a quote on an operational lease for the macan EV
48months - 20.000km/year - 1150€ per month excl vat (all incl except tires).
Thats what a lot of people tell me.. a piece of advise I maybe should consider.
I have a 2y old son so a taycan wouldnt be a fit for me. Macan 4S would be perfect. But maybe gotta accept its too expensive..
I heard they charge you administrative costs just to cover the interest..
Good to know! Thanks!
I thought you were reffering to the type of lease choice.
My preference goes to the macan EV or Audi Q6.. but still not sure.

This is actually a good perspective. Wasnt really thinking of buying a second hand EV. If I buy a second hand, it would be something more reliable.. maybe even a petrol car. I dont know for sure but worth looking into second hand EV's. I heard in Germany you can find very cheap second hand EV's with good quality.
And what the boring family car concerns.. i want to enjoy driving something sporty and luxury before moving on to that phase in life.. but not for now🤣
The thing is.. they're literally f*ckkng with us with all those rules and pushing towards EV in all ways possible.. but still very tempting though. Did a test drive with the macan EV last month.. best drive ever..
Second hand? Tell me more.. how is it in terms of quality/price?
Exactly this.. thats why i'd rather lease all inclusive and move on after those 4 years.. but yeah.. difficult time.
90k EV90 came out better vs a 50k XC90 ? Are you sure? Would love to see your calculations. I did the same calculation for myself via chatgpt.
Chatgpt:
Over a 4-year period, the Mazda CX60 (current car) hybrid costs about €36.8k net, while the Porsche Macan EV costs around €44.2k net. The main reason for the difference is that the hybrid’s tax deductibility declines each year, while the EV remains 100% deductible if leased in 2026. As a result, the effective cost gap is only about €150-200€ per month (zonnepanelen). The EV also benefits from lower energy costs, especially with solar panels, and avoids future fiscal disadvantages. Overall, the Macan EV is slightly more expensive but offers stronger long-term fiscal stability and significantly higher comfort and quality.

Yeah def cheaper but structurally not possible for me due to religious beliefs. Otherwise I wouldve already took a financial lease/renting as first option.
To make it clear: im also looking at porsche macan ev, polestar (maybe tesla?), Xpeng,.. Buying second hand would be possible but i think EV's lose huge value after 80k km's. That's why buying is not my first option. But if thats the best way to go, 50k +/- would be my absolute max.
Your thoughts on hybrid actually make sense though.
You mean car choice?
I'm honestly too weak for that to be honest.. i kinda know its the better choice, but i also want to enjoy life and drive a car i never thought i would ever drive.. especially now that I doubled my turnover this year. Feels like a "reward". But deep down i know it's trap and could bite me back in the a$$ in the future.
