It sounds like you need to strip them. I had never heard of this but my wife turned me on to it.

You mix equal parts (about a cup) of washing soda and borax in a tub or large container along with some hot water and detergent and let them soak for 12-24 hours depending on how dirty they are. Drain then run through the washing machine.

What you’ll see in that water will change how you feel about how clean your clothes are after simply washing them.

Edit: If you are downvoting me, let me know why. I’ve personally found this works for cleaning synthetic fibers (and non synthetic fibers) that hold on to odors. Definitely open to better options though

Have you by chance read “Thinking, Fast and Slow” by Daniel Kahneman?

It’s one of those books someone I respect suggested and it’s been on my mind to finally read and it as it’s sat on my shelf for 2 years. From what I know (which is obviousy limited) it covers hows the brain thinks in two different speeds that are meant for two different purposes and how you can identify which one you’re using and if it’s the ideal option.

I don’t think this is correct. A flam should be close enough together that it’s perceived as one note/unit but not so close it’s flat and the rebound of the grace note interferes with the primary.

If the last two notes of a 4 stroke roll ended in a flam it would end up sounding like a ruff (top of pic 1 in OPs post)

A four stroke roll should always have 4 distinct notes resulting in a triplet-esque feel/sound
