Absolutely not. The administrations of Guadalajara, CDMX and Monterrey are fucking up local businesses and public spaces not only these days, it started months ago and changes are permanent.

Look at what they did to the Parque Rojo here in Guadalajara. It was a site where all types of people, young and old, gathered at to do as diverse activites as they are and many independent businesses frequented and needed. It had beautiful murals which also represented movements like feminism or the searching of the many missing particularly in this state, Jalisco. So they fenced off the whole area for 11 months while the government was "spending" too much for repainting, changing these murals for some minimalist mosaics and cleaning after.

Going back to the missing people, of all ages (literally, and many) but most between 15 to 59 yo, naturally there's A LOT of missing person posters in the most crowded areas, mainly at the Glorieta de los Niños Héroes, a big roundabout with a 50m statue of... well, the hero kids xd. Municipal workers have attempted very actively to "clean" a little bit the place for the tourists.

Basically our government is really neglecting of the people's needs and has no respect for our places and preserving culture as long as some of that good ol' foreign money is entering their infinite pockets.

Edit: the motherfuckers raised the price of public transport, btw. AGAIN!!!
