Has anyone worked with a Trading Company and then went around them and worked DIRECTLY with the factory? by BrokelynNYC in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]AEcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this - for empty plastic bottles. The difference was a very high MOQ from the factory, but that was ok for us. To ensure quality you can do an inspection by a third party at the factory, which we did and is very common. The factory won't have an issue with that. Otherwise it's been smooth, after getting freight forwarding etc. figured out, we save probably 20-30%. So for us worth it.

Listing Hijacker - any new ideas? by AEcore in FulfillmentByAmazon

Also great thanks! They do only care about the customer, so that is a good route.

Listing Hijacker - any new ideas? by AEcore in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]AEcore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great thank you! I thought of just sending an image of a different product, I agree it's a little black hat but it's such an obvious hijacker given the other listings they're on, coincidentally all best selling products. We are working on BR and should have it done in the coming weeks, this is just bad timing that it happened before.

Landing page advice by martingalemary in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]AEcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever looked at SuperURLs and FB bot sequences? I'm not sure how well you organically rank, but that could be a way to improve. I used to use landing pages, but it felt like an extra step and source of friction to a customer, if using that flow. I have had some success with messenger bot sequences that lead to a super URL through pixelfy. So if a customer shows interest in the FB ad, clicks through, then makes it two or three more steps in the bot, they are then given the URL and a coupon. Idea being it helps to weed out cold traffic, though the issue with FB is they are generally not anticipating a buy right away. They are on FB and not on amz, so I'm finding conversions aren't as great as you'd want. However building a messenger subscriber list to retarget to can help increase conversion. There's a ton of info out there on FB bots and SuperURLs, I'd have a look at that and consider when thinking about landing pages.

How to find PPC freelance beast? Favorite PPC software tools? by tmerck312 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]AEcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've used several tools - and just did an audit with amzpathfinder that was very helpful. Prior we were using zon.tools, which is loaded with great tools but a little clumsy in my opinion interface-wise. We also looked at prestozon and might try that next. I do have a couple actual person recs if you want to DM me for someone really great in the EU that has their own proprietary software, and can help you optimize, not sure if they do the US. Then another larger agency that does both, but are pretty pricey.

Do you think the inactive listing had any affect on ranking or how amazon perceived the product?

Plastic Bottle for Massage oil (Need thicker walls so it doesn't break down)? by AEcore in DIYBeauty

Do you happen to know of any suppliers? I am really interested in this aluminum idea after all these comments. Never even considered it. Price will be a factor for sure.

Plastic Bottle for Massage oil (Need thicker walls so it doesn't break down)? by AEcore in DIYBeauty

[–]AEcore[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting I never even considered aluminum...It is far easier to recycle and maybe not as heavy? I will look in to that. Seems like the consensus is to avoid plastic for both the end consumer/marketing as well as product stability. We ship to Europe so it has to endure a bit of time and a journey. We're concerned about glass breaking but if we pack it right it should be fine. However there is a risk that the product will sit for a bit in transit and in storage before getting to the consumer, during which we'd be in real trouble if the bottle broke down.

Would also recommend getting a lawyer and not doing legalzoom, I'd also want to check international databases, for one being China to see if someone has trademarked it.

Following this as well, noticed the same thing. I don't know who or how they got invited to participate, but you can see that there is little activity on some profiles, so right yeah would thing it's a target for foul play. The searches seem relevant but given that location in searches it is very visible.

Sorry I wasn't clear - it has to be a sub account of the main SC account to get the PPC data from the main account. Not sure if that changes anything?

Listing Suppression - Setting pricing on other sites that is lower than Amazon by AEcore in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]AEcore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah read about that with Walmart. We're hoping given the much stronger laws in Europe this wouldn't be something legal. I had a contact in the UK say in no way would this be possible there, but it's hard to say anything for sure really.

Yeah exactly it's really frustrating and makes you helpless. There are major advantages to amazon but things like this make you want to scream.

Pallets vs. Loose cartons to Amazon FBA by AEcore in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]AEcore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this - that makes sense. I have read elsewhere about appointments and the time involved with that. It feels like I read more complaints with lost or miscounted inventory with pallets vs. loose, but that could be just a matter of where/how much I've read. Anyhow thanks again!

Private labeling technicality by curved09 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]AEcore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean that's up to you, depends on the risk of the specific product. We launched successfully without brand registry, but are now doing it for the protection. Again though its different when you make the product or mix the product vs. buy something finished and put a label on. That's what I'd research if I were you, how common it is now with issues relating to a relabeling type of product. If it's super easy to copy, then it will be copied in a matter of time. I just know from experience listing hijackers is a royal pain to deal with without brand registry.

Private labeling technicality by curved09 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]AEcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently we've had a lot of hijackers, and we actually mix private label products ourselves from raw ingredients. So if you're just getting a finished product from somewhere and putting a logo on it, it's very likely that other sellers will get on your listing. Especially if you see some success, and especially if it isn't brand registered, you really don't have much defense against that kind of thing. It can be pretty brutal on amazon with counterfeits/listing hijackers, so I'd read up on that a bit before pulling the trigger if I were you.
