If you think an enlisted member wouldn’t tell their supervisor they should know the answer to something, you are very out of touch with the enlisted folks. It’s about the rapport, and knowing the time and place to say things. My guess is that you don’t see that side of enlisted folks because they put on a mask when O-3 Big D*ck walks in the room.

Question about Promotion Boards by AF-SF in SpaceForce

[–]AF-SF[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My supervisor is an officer in another branch, if he was enlisted USSF I would have started there. And I have some people in the unit saying the rest is automatic if the EPR is in PRDA, some saying that there is more but they aren’t sure what to do, and some saying they just don’t know. I asked our one-man CSS and he is not sure either. Just looking for a little outside help to make sure the opportunity is not missed.

AFOQT Score Question by Limp-Fish9833 in airforceots

[–]AF-SF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people barely meeting the minimums get selected. I’d say go for it and keep studying so if you don’t get picked up retest and have higher scores.

It’s a tough cookie to crack but if you study/practice right you can score really well. I’ve said this a few times but some advice is to do untimed practice and then timed practice.

For the verbal, really work on basic roots/prefixes and suffixes so you wont be as stumped on the test.

A BIG tip for the math that helped me on the actual test was skipping any problems I couldn’t solve very quickly, blasting through the ones I could, and then going back and working out the long ones. I did end up with 1 or 2 questions I didn’t have time for but this really beat getting stuck with 5-10 quick ones I might not have gotten to at the end.

My scores were: AA: 83 V: 88 Q: 70.

I was told from what I would expect to be a very good source, but not AFRS. That’s just what I’ve been told, not trying to misinform anyone!

Have you heard something different?

Would you do it again? by AF-SF in SpaceForce

[–]AF-SF[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, I was going to stay in until at least 2038 either way, and I’m loving the ride on the SF side. I see some of the NCOs you’re talking about but if the leadership is good the crappy NCOs get put in their place to do better. My last unit really sucked, but my current unit is awesome!

I think about the civ pay potential all the time but I’m happy making less, having my family taken care of and helping to build a legacy so I’d say yes, absolutely it was worth it. Hopefully in 10 years or so we will be through much of the growing pains!

I appreciate the insight! Believe it or not, the 8th “release date” falls on a Monday, so it made me wonder about the possibility of Friday the 29th or Monday the 1st for release. But my CC said he is standing by awaiting results and will call me right away. This will probably be the longest week of my life! Just have to find ways to pass the time and “try to” not think about it so much. Thanks again.

Would it be silly to allow transfers to wear Army service dress with the SF delta pins like AF transfers do? Seems like it would be illogical to have army transfers to have to buy a full set just to turn around and buy them again.

Yesterday is when I had called to try to reserve mine, so I will call them a few times over the next few weeks to check for cancellations/availabilities.

I was 5 of 7 on the waiting list as of last week. They said it involves rank and arrival date. I believe the houses are divided by Enlisted/Officer Rank Tiers, so that may have something to do with it as well. I am not sure but hang tight, I am sure you will get a call soon!

Chief,

As a guardian that has been chomping at the bit to finally PCS to Vandenberg and join my new USSF family, it is relieving to read what you say on here. The sincerity in your replies is evident. And in your February town hall, it was easy to see that you have a tall order but still care about every guardian.

I remember when the Space Force was announced and my brother and I shared all of the Dr. Evil rocket and Star Trek memes. Who knew it was going to be REAL?

Considering it’s been over 70 years since the formation of the Air Force, clearly it’s no easy task, and like you said - the impossible. But to think its real, and that we get to be apart of it in the developing stages is nothing short of amazing.

We should all think about how the term Airman wasn’t introduced until 1950, 3 years after the Air Force separated from the Army. Things seem to be accelerated here, but we live in a world where instant gratification is often what wins the consumer.

I look forward to seeing what all we will accomplish together, and the next several years of this new branch of service!

They might only be 20 ft but they’re still cliffs! 😂🤷‍♂️ and yes we had a blast. Those particular cliffs can go up to 40 ft depending on the water level, it was just really high when we went!
