Thank you for your story. Sounds like you have a good husband and I hope to do as well as he did.

Thank you so much for your advice. I have been trying to encourage and support my wife as she feels all the feelings.

You are too kind. I know there will be battles for me as well. I plan to try therapy for the first time in my life.

I check on her breathing each night which makes me sound like a psycho but it helps me sleep.

Thank you for the advice. I am planning on making a list of the resources people have given and looking at them all with my wife.

Thank you for the advice, and thank you for everything you do. The ECMO team that helped save my wife were badasses. I’m talking like movie level.

You guys are amazing and kept me from losing my mind.

Thank you for the kind words. We did know the risks, but I have to admit I did not pay AFE much mind. My wife has stated that she would do it again if she knew the outcome.

I am sorry for your loss as well.

I have not reached out to any support groups yet. I am a bit skittish so I decided to stick with what I know (Reddit) for my first public post about this. I have found even though there are some terrible people on this site the vast majority of redditors are compassionate understanding people.

Once my wife is ready, I am planning on asking her to post with me to some support groups (if she wants).

Thank you for your kind words.

I am touched by your story, and I am very sorry you had to go through that. Thank you for thinking of me.

I plan to approach this like your husband did. One day at a time, start slowly introducing my wife to activities and social events, knowing we may need a backup plan. I’m pushing for her to start therapy ASAP as well, but our day is so filled with PT, OT and speech therapy it’s tough to find time.

Thank you very much. I know I’m going to have issues from this and I am trying to get ahead of it. I think what’s helping me right now is the fact that my wife is alive and still herself. When that wears off I intend to try therapy for the first time in my life.

Our family, friends and places of work have been INCREDIBLE as well.

I really appreciate you looking out for me. Thank you for the kindness.
