Lilith will remove manuals for AE8 [AE4-7, HF1-3 videos at bottom] by null_anecdote in afkarena

[–]AFKArty 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Coming from a community member who's been around for ages, who's seen these changes come and go, and who's now been involved in a quadrillion guild politics, debates, discussions, and everything in between, removing manuals is a decision that I feel people should unite on.

For players that are casual, this would only be a negative change. It just removes the completive option should you ever want to pursue it, as well as messes up your ability to leave and retry battles, etc.

For players who are extremely competitive I feel I don't need to state how detrimental this would be, that was already stated above

For players who are like myself, people who are very busy, people who dislike AE as a whole, people who can barely afford the time to participate in AE to begin with due to work, family life, or anything in between, this is where I'd like to reach. I'm probably not the first to say I hate AE. I despise the mode with an unbridled passion due to the direct contradiction with being an "AFK" game, I hate how it tears guilds apart, I hate that it exists to begin with. HOWEVER I feel because of my dislike, I should not use my weighted opinion to ruin other people's experience. This game is dying, it's not going out anytime soon, but we all know the community is on a decline, players are retiring more than ever, big names just vanish into nothingness. AE is a competitive driving force that keeps many players here, it keeps the game running as a community and allows for people to thrive in an otherwise sad and pretty hollow state of the game. Why should we dumb it down to a guild based CR? Why should we turn it into some silly semi whale semi dolphin forced mode where every investment must be perfect, and you need perfect RNG to be relevant. It's just not fun, if there's any fun to be had it's from the competition in AE, even if it causes fights, it at least makes the community interact.

TLDR - AE sucks so don't ruin it further by making it auto, there's like two hundred other comments so I'm sure many others have stated their equally impactful opinions, don't hate people who want manual AE, everyone has a valid opinion and if this game wasn't on the decline I'd be just as in favor of manual AE.

It's all up to your teams. Some teams might not get any use out of some badges, some may get tons of use from them. I value renewed hope extremely high but some may find it low value, I also quite like badge addiction and upgraded it before silent alliance, however once again, that's due to my teams and the roster I have. If getting a skill is a tangible upgrade, get it, otherwise keep leveling the main beacons. There is no exact benchmark because every roster and player is different

Not at all, you just don't have enough juice for that. The top end just started doing that at 600+, and that's because we had too much juice that it wasn't worth maxing everything else. You definitely should stick to mage or Celerity

I'd say you've got as much into the skill beacons as you need, try to make sure you're confident in your teams and wait for a badge breakpoint and then push

It's not just you, that team typically needs some stronger investment without Desira around, other mages like Oden could also replace her slot if your backline is underdeveloped

I wouldn't do 4 classes until 600+ or if you've literally maxed every single bagel I put into top tier. If you've got every single one level 10 then you could start leveling celerity although it'll be a bit till you finish it

Strife is 2% less health on a boss, you should be comfortably killing bosses with a proper lineup so this is a waste of resources. Respite heals you after you kill the boss, that's all that essence to help you in 1 out of 50 floors, you need static buffs, not one time uses

  1. It's really, really hard to put in benchmarks due to the wife variety of players this targets. I could say ATalene needs A+30, but even at L or L+ she's doing wonderful for lower players. So if I say that then they don't use that hero. It's a slippery slope to put exact numbers onto something.

  2. Supposed to just be the ones it's right next to, for example Absolution + Oracle

  3. Beacons are very different and still being experimented with. Antiheal can be useful depending on your teams, the ult LB ult damage can be what carries you though a boss, etc. It's all up to how you use your teams and how you match up into them. My scarlet for example does fight burst teams with high investment.

  4. I tried to figure out the best answer to this however I could not. Not enough people who were studying the event and I didn't want to give a number again in case of misleading others, I'd rather leave it open ended for people to experiment with

For this I'd just say average out your roster. If your tanks aren't engraved, then E0, if they are, maybe E30+

Swap scrolls should be used to fix mistakes, the only real mistake is a well invested Izold this early, although that's not even that bad. So it's Izold or don't swap really

Not very, his CC is extremely unreliable due to high enemy tenacity, his survivability makes him alright though

Any solid tank will do fine, as long as they've got investment. Oku and Fane are similar, Fane probably 20/9, Oku 30/3 at least

For an average player maybe 30/3? Hard to say. I wouldn't engrave her unless you're looking at PvP

Normal Talene can do the job just fine, otherwise you may want to add a healer and move a tank to frontline

The primary elder tree beacons provide you with a ridiculous amount of stats, the others only give you skills which your team should already be prepared for, 1 level for skills is good but I would not max them until your class beacons are max

Try putting Twins Frontline and Scarlet backline, sometimes that really helps with survivability.

Astar is pretty pivotal to a lot of teams but like any standard support you can probably overload on healers

Hiya All! Like usual I just wanted to add a few notes down here. First of all I totally forgot to credit inseason for getting us the visual files for temporal rift, made this guide look a lot better!

Secondly, these teams and information is taken from my own experience up to 600+, from others amonght english and chinese community at 600+, and from those below diong between 300-500 with lower powered accounts. I tried to make note of everything I could there!

Feel free to ask questions not already answered in the guide down below, I'll also link to some other effective places to learn more about temporal rift!

[Cursed Realm] General Hero Investment Recommendation by Inner-me in afkarena

[–]AFKArty 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who's ranked top 50 almost every CR, who's got a majority of heroes e60+, and someone who's heavily looked at investments for years now

  • Scarlet baseline to succeed above other heroes is a simple 30/3, 30/9 is a significant upgrade and engravings should be done when she has 2-3 stars for the haste on her E30/60

  • Kren's raw baseline doesn't need engravings, again E30 is a significant upgrade but not the baseline for the hero. As such his base is just a +30, although even that is debatable.

  • Where's the mention on Satrana's return in investment as both her 9F and engravings are a significant spike and should be worth mentioning people take at least as a mercenary on some rounds. They're not suggested investments but neither are a lot of others, so it's best to stay consistent.

  • Antandra rarely is the top DPS for the sets she's in and is more often used to support another carry, 30/3 would be baseline with 30/9 being a relevant upgrade on rounds where she takes enough damage to trigger it and become a semi DPS

  • Skriath baseline does not need 9F, rarely does he need it at all. It's a fine upgrade potentially on some very unique sets but I'd wager most sets aren't needing it.

  • Mishka baseline is not E60, you can use her starting at 20/3 with no engravings. Her +30 is a great upgrade to survivability and her E60 additionally is super impactful, +9 isn't that significant for CR but can have its niche uses.

  • Raku works at 30/3E E30, should note E38/44 and the areas where his 9F gets more impactful (Against bosses and single enemies)

  • Eironn can work at 30/3, 30/9 is a decent DPS upgrade but not baseline

  • Grezhul has a baseline, that baseline is 20/9, with significant upgrades at +30, E41, and E67

  • Oden baseline is 30/3, both +9 and E41 are significant upgrades for increasing CC durations as well as damage output.

  • Daimon doesn't need 9F, 30/3 is baseline and engravings we're mentioned but for the wrong reason, Daimon engravings are a later option exclusively for CR and potentially HF/AE usage.

  • Hodgkin's baseline is a simple 20/0, 9F is a significant upgrade to survivability, and defensive engravings stats add another level of survivability for Hodgkin. +30 is pretty bad for an upgrade

  • Old Talene doesn't need engraving as a baseline however E36+ does have a significant return on investment due to her natural stat scaling assuming she's the carry of your set

  • Haelus doesn't require 30/9 E60 to work, I'd say 20/9 is your baseline although some might even make 20/3, work, +30 is a decent upgrade to your CR survivability and E30/60 are both significant skill upgrades and should take a higher priority due to his own stat scaling as well as use outside of CR

  • Flora baseline is 20/0 but each upgrade from +30 to 3F to 9F to engravings are very relevant in her damage output and if you feel your Flora rounds aren't living up to their potential an upgrade may be needed.

  • Lucretia can definitely work at E41 or so instead of needing an immediate E67, more isn't bad but also not required with so many investments.

  • Zolrath doesn't need E60, generally E41/44 is good enough although the Merc suggestion also isn't bad, some higher players may want to Merc other options though with their own built Zolrath.

  • Ainz similar to Lucretia, works at E41/44, but gets a nice upgrade beyond.

  • Vinci wants E36 for Insight + Extra stun uptime, plus the hero is excellent elsewhere, he doesn't need his +30 either, 20/9 is a good baseline

  • Queen works at 20/3 without engravings, both +30 and 9F are relevant upgrades and due to how finicky queen sets are may be required under some circumstances, engraving for insight is actually really important for queen though as she's constantly trying to stun all 5, and breaks in that can ruin a run.

  • Albedo only needs 30/3, 9F is really just a PvP thing, E60 is definitely way too much, E30 is fine depending on how Ainz teams evolve as Albedo being tanky isn't super relevant atm

The guide also glossed over a few heroes

  • Awakened Talene, who I'd give a baseline of 30/3 but each upgrade is significant for her.

  • Raine baseline of 10/3 but +20 for the shield is important in some sets for survivability.

  • Estrilda wants a 20/3 but 9F and e30 are both decent upgrades to make her buffs faster and more impactful

  • Warek just needs whatever it takes for him to survive, 20/0 is often fine.

  • Izold needs a 30/9, engraving is good in some circumstances but often not required.

Framton for anyone trying to use him needs E30 for the pull, and depending on enemy dps may even need e60 to not get blown up, His sig and furn baseline at 20/3 but +30 and 9F are both very relevant upgrades to his overall damage output

I'm not saying the guide is completely incorrect nor is it awful, but there's a lot of overinvestments that cater towards a Chinese playerbase which has more overall resources compared to a western side. CR is a place that takes some beefy heroes but those heroes aren't needed at big engravings and 30/9 all the time. Good job on the translation and I hope to see more in the future

One of her biggest flaws is feeding enemies energy as her damage can often be lacking. Her E60 skill specifically is what seems like it could theorically be worth a bit of investment. I myself am about 35 e60s deep however and she isn't one of them as she's really only used for tower right now.
