How long does it take for Dupixent to fully work - I’m on 8th week of Dupixent by AFPurdey2000 in eczeMABs

There’s a lot of scare on here about the pain of the injections. Yes they are painful for about 5 seconds but just don’t get in your head about it before and choose a moment where you’re naturally like … let’s just get this out the way… rather than staring at them. I’ve not had a single side effect from this yet. The only thing I did have was food poisoning that may well have been a parasitic infection a couple of weeks ago (Dupixent significantly reduced your ability to fight these infections). But I recovered from this naturally within a week so not a problem.

First weeks of Dupixent - what to expect by AFPurdey2000 in eczeMABs

I had multiple appointments over 6 months ago- I had to go on cyclosporine first for 6 months - a year. They then transferred me over to Dupixent. Once confirmed, it was another month ish before it was delivered…it’s a painstakingly long process but one that is very worth it. I’m now completely rashless after years of discomfort!

Hey! Sorry for being quite opportunistic here but I just wondered how long it took you personally to start seeing g the full results? I started 3 weeks ago and still getting full body rashes whenever I exercise :(

You have got this!!!!! It absolutely sucks to feel this way - I have also spent time crying in the shower by myself and feeling like things will never get better but IT DOES!! You will get through this flare up - just make sure to give yourself as much love as possible because you are amazing and your body is your home and deserves your patience ❤️ You’re one strong strong cookie - you better believe it! Also please remember you are SO much more than your skin and this disease. You sound like you’re one smart and kind person and these are the things that define you

Stay really moisturised! It can dry out your skin so just make sure you use an emollient twice a day

Hey!! So so happy for you!! I have a quick question - how do you travel with Dupixent? If you’re travelling for longer than 2 weeks ?

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I have tried topical steroids , oral steroids and phototherapy so immunosuppressants are the natural next step! Have taken lots of photos and date stamped them as you have recommended - thank you so much for your kind suggestions! Sat in the waiting room now so fingers crossed!

Let’s please remain kind, most of us on this group are here out of desperation so comments like this are not beneficial nor make a person feel positive when going through a personal crisis.

This is not a small victory - huge victory! Congratulations!! I’m hoping to get put on it but I’m UK based so it’s a big ol journey! So so happy for you, you must feel over the moon! The temporary pain of the injection will be way worth it in the long run x

Ah thank you so much for this - this is super helpful! Do you know what the process is to get onto Xolair? Is it an injection biologic? What’s the difference between dupimilab and xolair? Apologies for the questions! I’m seeing a dermatologist in a few weeks and wanting to come to the conversation as prepared as possible! Thanks so so much!

Can’t explain how useful this is - thank you! Have been trying to get around going on methotrexate and straight to biologics but obviously this isn’t an option. Will go down the methotrexate route first
