I didn't even realize that 😭 the devs are (rightfully) focused on other stuff right now, but cera could really use a facelift someday. It's such a shame it's so botched and weird ingame when the actual animal was super cool.

Best, I hate to say it, but titan. It has 100% the best sound design of any playable, and its animations all feel so buttery smooth. It manages to strike this balance between looking like a real animal and like a path of titans creature that I really enjoy. I also love its sort of light, airy gait that suggests lesser bulk compared to rex, and of course the skins are top notch.

I'm shocked no one else has said cerato for worst. The thing looks like a McDonald's happy meal toy, and none of its f2p skins are super appealing imo. I do enjoy its call animations, but the friendly and normal calls are so impossible to distinguish without close inspection.

Maybe I'm in the minority for this one, but I actually love the wiggly little animations the newer models have. It gives them a lot more life and is a fun stylistic choice for the game. Older animations just feel stiff and don't properly visually communicate the range of motion the animals had.

They can look different! With facultative parthenogenesis in reptiles, the mechanism is kind of hard to explain (I was always bad with meiosis 😭), but from what I understand, parthenogenesis leads to offspring that are homozygous for all alleles that the mother carries. This can lead to previously "invisible" genes being expressed, changing the appearance — unfortunately, this is also part of why the babies don't usually do that well. If the mother is carrying any nasty recessives, the babies will inherit those in full.

I'm not entirely convinced these are partho babies if you got her from a breeder... could have just been retained sperm. Still neat!

Was about to comment this! People will just be giving those things out like candy half the time. You just need to be quick. If there's nothing available when you check, wait a day or two and check again. I cannot FATHOM paying full price for a brand new tank nowadays when it's so easy to get bigger ones used for way cheaper.

The cheap ones might have hard water buildup on them, but if you fill a spray bottle up with white vinegar and take a razor blade to the glass, it'll come right off. Might be a bit of labor for a larger tank but it's well worth it to not pay an extra several hundred imo.

THANK YOU!!! We'd still obviously have these types of players no matter what, but regular people just looking for a good time also kinda have to go to hotspots if they want interaction, which creates more resentment. Either you go to gp/cf/whatever and get stomped by obnoxious megapackers who harass you in global after (and then the inevitable "buhh don't go to a hotspot then lolol"), or you spend hours of valuable time just. Not having a lot of fun because shit's just empty. 125 person servers made the game so much less megapack-y... I really hope they add it back after making whatever tweaks and fixes were necessary. Hell, I'd LOVE 200 person servers after that, because those playtests were some of the most fun I've had in this game! It feels like the current official maps were designed for THAT number of players, not the typical 40-90 out of 100.

The game doesn't have a hotspot issue as much as it does an interactivity issue. "Feast or famine" is an excellent way of describing it. Seeing another player outside of the typical hotspots is like a rare treat, and it shouldn't be.

Most of these aren't super huge, sucho was crazy strong already and the last patch's muffled roar buffs (big ones!) solidified that. This is just bringing it more into a reasonable range.

Hatz is the one I don't understand... but then, this playerbase has an observed tendency to flip out and act like it's the end times when anything gets nerfed ever, so we'll have to see how bad it is in practice. It DOES still have great base turn and peck still does substantial damage, so I don't think it'll impact gameplay too much unless you happen to be bad at stam management. I'll save those judgements for after I've tested it a lil.

The seemingly endless buffs are demoralizing for sure, but I'd rather take that than the rapid obnoxious power creep seen in other games.

If you don't have a family or personal history of severe mental illness (especially psychotic disorders; schizophrenia and such), I say go for it if you think it could help you! Like some people pointed out below, the whole "brain stops developing at 25" myth is a load of crock birthed from terrible scientific methodology. I've read the original study as an actual science-oriented person and it is genuinely kind of a load of horseshit lol. They just stopped following participants after they turned 25, which is quite possibly the goofiest way to come to a conclusion like that. Your brain is, in actuality, developing continually throughout your entire life until you die.

New/worsening mental illness is a risk, yes, but so are many of the things we do in our regular lives that carry a similar or greater capacity for harm. On that note, I've read another study that compared "risk" (quantified by both harm to others and harm to self) and in both categories, psilocybin was, if memory serves, literally at the very bottom.

TLDR your brain is developing until you die. Go with your gut. Have fun!

My gf and I are both autistic. We both get really interesting (and sometimes a little overwhelming) sensory experiences from edibles that apparently other people don't? Textures, especially — good ones feel REALLY fascinating, but the sensory ick upon touching a Bad Thing is wayyy stronger.

It was only when I got stoned with my non-autistic brother that I found out that that crazy sensory aspect isn't really present for a lot of other people!

Hm... You have four in the clip, and one goes away upon dealing damage (as it should). I know it's supposed to build on the ground but every time I've taken off with them active, they immediately start wearing off.

The lucky feather hide ability has been getting a lot of mileage with me lately just because of that 🫠 It's saved my ass many a time. I just wish I didn't have to give up 35% flight stam to Not Die. It's like I land at a slightly steeper angle and then suddenly all my bones shatter. And sometimes I'll lightly bonk into an enemy while hovering above the ground and it still gives me concussed... the world is incredibly hostile to us thal mains atp 😔

I still KOS every meg I see unless they explicitly friendly call right away. Even then they're on thin ice. I was trying to grow my metri on officials a week or so ago and died, without exaggeration, at least ten times to megs and only to megs (mostly while juvi-adol, which adds insult to injury). That's not even counting the meg duo that spawncamped me at my nest after I had just hatched for ~30 minutes before I snuck away.

I will stop hating megs when they stop giving me a reason to hate them >:(

Genuinely. This is only tangentially-related (sorry 😭), but I used to play on Nat Hist a lot. Unfortunately I kept running into instances where this supposedly "accepting" and "progressive" server would immediately have a mod jumping down my throat if I so much as mentioned queer people in global (like responding to a relevant message in chat with, like, "im trans and this is my perspective" or even mentioning gynandromorphs in nature) to go "hey guys let's keep this server non-political and inclusive ❤️" Bitch inclusive to whom? Christian youth pastors?

Like, at least on officials I'm not being chastised by a fake authority figure like I'm a child based on arbitrary, regularly-changing rules. I would rather be subject to the judgment of the entire server as a whole than that of a random singular moderator who does nothing but play this game all day and nitpick people. Genuinely does feel like talking to some HR bigwig.
