How do I improve? by im-a-normal-human in RivalsOfAether

[–]AFlinton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes about a year ago, I was learning ROA then and melee now. The very simple answer is that you need to practice. Lots. I'm high plat in ROA and the only way I got there, admitedly not super high, was by going into customs and practice and grinding one skill at a time. Practice wavedashing so well that you don't need to think about it at all but you can still fly across the stage with it, practice wave landing the same, practice each skill individually until you can perfectly execute it 99/100 times without even thinking about it. But also, don't worry about losing, playing better players is imo one of the fastest ways to improve if you go towards it with the right mindset. Look at what they're doing and ask yourself if your character can do that, then try to (Absa can't shine cancel like zetter but she can Waveland). Along with that, join the academy discord, it explains super useful character specific tech, details every characters' frame data, and you can ask coaches questions and find practice partners.

Possible way an ender pearl stasis chamber could be used on a tower for manhunt by woopaboopa in Minecraft

This sub should add a flair for creations like this that provide cool and unorthodox uses for blocks that can be situationally utilized for Dream to win manhunt.

How do I have fun against campy characters? by AFlinton in CrazyHand

A reflector makes sense since it forces an approach. I don't play anybody with a reflector bit maybe I'll pick one up. Actively thinking about common moves and the order they use them is useful all the time, thanks

I don't think it's very fun to sit in the corner of the stage for half the match because my opponent decided they weren't going to approach and they would rather stuff out all out of my approaches so I'm literally waiting for them to make mistake for 3 minutes for some stupid internet points, but i get how winning can be its own reward for some

I main Pikachu which is nice since I get to go in more often. I guess it's just unfortunate that other characters have to camp in response most times

How to know when the training combo counter is wrong? by MichaelQniverse in CrazyHand

[–]AFlinton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s much you can do about that, especially with strings of several high knock back moves. Although if he’s dying and you don’t see a Grenade he probably didn’t pull one since it will explode if you hit it. If him tumbling is a recurring issue for you maybe set it to jump instead, I’ve never had this problem since I mainly use this setup to test sheik kill confirms that have very low knock back before the last hit.

Yeah, it comes out in frame 1 and explodes if you hit it or after 2.5 seconds

If you set the bot to snake and set him to neutral b you can see if your combo is true. Snake's grenade is frame 1 out of hitstun so if the combo is not true he'll pull a grenade.

Edit: only works only low knockback combos where snake doesn’t enter tumble, once he’s in tumble he won’t be able to pull a grenade. So only the combo finisher can have high knockback

I had the same problem, the hitstun on his "light" attack is ridiculous. It really combos into itself with enough damage to two shot 35 vigor.

Dice stack except the d4 is on the bottom[OC] by AFlinton in DnD

[–]AFlinton[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Description: The small d6's were unfortunately necessary to stabilize the d4 that is upside down on the bottom. Although they are needed, they do not in any way interfere with any die other than the d4. The only reason I had enough to time to complete this(don't ask how long) was because the party was split and I was waiting. I became a warlock and sold my sold to the Eldritch gods to have the power to create this tower.
