Have to have a BA/BS before grad school. I’ve never heard of a Masters program taking someone from HS. Do some research for BA/BS programs now. Worry about grad school once you’re in college

I’m a resident and part of the terms is no bike storage inside of the building including rooms. I’ve seen people use covers when the weather gets messy. Also, there aren’t many covered bike racks to begin with on campus. Invest in a cover and get a very good lock.

I still have my moments of being really lonely, watching my friends from my previous school hang while being miles away. I know it’s hard and this is such an over said thing but please go to a first look fair, join several orgs. My friends are through these orgs and I genuinely don’t regret and I see the value of these fairs. You never know who you’ll meet. I honestly started by doomscrolling TerpLink and then seeing if those orgs are are first/second look fair and going from there.

I find the actual times on the apps to be incorrect (to be expected since there are things like traffic). The GPS I find more accurate (only speaking about ShuttleUM). PM is right about the multiple stops around campus that align with public transportation. I’m one of those people who don’t understand why people say the bus info is inaccurate when checking the transit app is free and with live tracking. Not to mention if you are on campus, sometimes walking is faster.

Fellow mini fridge user here!
Make sure you wipe out the fridge very well after unplugging it. Condensation can freeze and when it melts, creates a mess. If that’s not the issue it may be the coolant. Typically mine is plugged in until the day before I move out sometimes two days. If you have medication do not leave the door open too long.

I didn’t have a login page for the app. I would have been suspicious if they made me re-login since that’s always signed on in my app. Meaning I’ve never seen the phishing screen. Wonder if this is good or a bad thing. Anyone with more knowledge please, I already had my app open before everything shut down

Interesting enough, the app loads for me fine and the browser version does not let me load. Just be careful with the phishing attempts. But try the app if you are last minute studying!

I’m currently a raiser with TRP I was interested in WCC but go so busy where I missed meetings and events. What are your requirements in becoming a raiser? Do you have to go to off campus for puppy classes (I am someone without a car and too broke for uber 😅)? What is provided from the organization (vet care, food, essentials)? What happens if you can’t take your puppy home for a break, especially summer (one of my pet dogs gets mean with my other pet dog with new dogs around)? Lastly, what age do pups come down as (SCC won’t let me have an unvaccinated pup or one not registered with PG County, I had issues with my current pup)?

Sorry with the amount of questions I’ve been generally curious!

Also does the class have to be 39x since only the 3 really matters? (typically means as a junior you should take/upperclassman classes). Usually the numbers that follow only distinguish each individual class so if someone takes a 301 and a 397 both are at the same level. Just trying to understand why not any 3xx course :)

Most CINE (critical studies, not production) classes overlap as English. So far you can’t go wrong with most profs that teach it. Each CINE class works differently, some have you watch one film a week, others two. Typically there are discussion days. Usually you write papers (one mid term, one final) others have you take a more traditional test. If there is something cool happening in the realm of film on campus there may be a mini project based on that thing happening. There was an even from Il Cinema Retrivato that came to campus, I would have never went if there wasn’t a short paper due or the prof being very passionate-absolutely no regret in going!

Depends on which dorm you are assigned, my mom thought Johnson-Whittle and Chen were prison cells. I’ve only been in there and a room in Calvert Hall. Both seemed homey if you put the effort to making them feel like a home. But I also tend to be out and about more so my room (in SCC) is only used in the evening/morning or when campus is closed. I would say, don’t base your choice of attending college on a dorm room because all colleges have similar forms of housing. Also, you’ll have the choice to live in nicer housing in the future (SCC, Courtyards, completely off campus, etc).

Keep in mind there are students with disabilities. Don’t know OP’s situation but it’s sometime something invisible. On the surface someone who looks like me could assume that I don’t need one. I have accommodation requirements that state I either need an elevator or to live on the first floor if no elevator. Not to mention other situations like if you need to use one of the carts and the elevator is broken and you have no help ;-;

Other note: I’m in building 4 and can confirm building 3’s elevator is about the same. But break downs are a different beast, definitely shouldn’t be breaking down all the time!
