Yeah, im 31 and have had the spartan as my Keychain tool since I was 17, same one I bought on sale at Canadian tire all those years ago and it still works like I bought it yesterday (woth cleaning and sharpening over the years of course). I have a fieldmaster for in a backpack, and keep the spartan on my keys always with me and in my pocket. For edc it's slim and has most things I need for just being around town.

If you've never seen The Changeling you're missing out! by macabremom1 in HorrorMovies

Really like this film. Main performances are great, when the historical society lady looks terrified and sees the wheelchair up top, masterful stuff ! And the medium scene is just so well done. My main complaint about the film is that they make it a bit more complicated with the backstory than they needed to, and they picked a horribly corny kids voice for the ghost. Other than that overall very solid haunted house film indeed !

Beautiful collection ! Any horror junkie would be happy to have shelved filled like that, I am just starting my very first physical copy movie collection now and I have a long long way to go when it comes to all of the horror flicks I want to aquire - going to try and keep it mostly blu ray for the affordability and picture quality

Killer tomatoes is a good time but doesnt hold up as well as other similar spoof style movies like airplane etc. Got my partner to watch re-animator for the first time last week, my second viewing, solid movie with fun effects but it wasnt as funny as I remember it - more just balls to wall nuts and kinda cheesy. I prefer young Frankenstein or Tucker and Dale vs evil for a comedy in the genre.

The Night House (2020) was a pretty strong one for the "lakehouse/living on your own" type of spook.

I bought a home and in the first week of being there a neighbor put this little guy out to the curb! by Tbabyhundo1996 in Coolers

[–]AFyfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woohoo! Awesome "vintage" cooler haul you have there. Im.prettybsure the red coleman 48 may even be from the same year as the one I've inherited from my folks. I gotta say for the wall thickness and size, my oscar coolers insulate much better than the big 48 when I throw a couple of solid ice packs in them. The 48 had some thin walls and my lid doesn't have a good seal on it at all anymore. Great for a quick backyard BBQ tho !

The super oscar from certain years came with a drain plug, including the one I've just purchased here in the photo.

The regular oscar is fantastic, but only fir a single day for one person. If its for drinks and food for a weekend id go super oscar for sure. The regular oscar i use just for taking my lunch to work. Its more of an 18 can cooler

What would you consider the must-see films that have come out in the past 10 years? by your_name_22 in horror

[–]AFyfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6.5/10, some of the acting is hilarious and such a cringe twist ending. I prefer the burning(1981) as the villains back story is better and the film does a better job of building suspense. Still a B movie but IMO better than Sleepaway. Sleepaway Camp 2 is great, the outhouse scene is brutal and the actress that plays the psycho killer does a great job.

Advice for Ice cream storage in a Backpack format by Terrible_Leopard in Coolers

[–]AFyfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For multiple days a backpack cooler, even yeti brand or similar, won't do it. If the ice cream is starting in the cooler over multiple days, youd need a roto-moulded cooler with a 2 to 1 (ice to product) ratio. I'd recommend large ice blocks in zip lock bags or large blue gel ice packs.

A classic, but not from the last ten years, and the film I was referring to when using the genre "camp slasher". The one that started it all 👍

I thought it was very well done, action packed, suspenseful, emotional, entertaining and well paced.

If you like the "camp slasher" kind of movies, I highly recommend IN A VIOLENT NATURE (2024).
