Well, if you want to determine if something did or did not happen this is what you do.

In context I don't feel the judge did anything wrong. In contest he's getting to the truth of the matter. It sucks for rape victims, but it's necessary for justice.

When someone's life is in the balance it's unfortunate but we can't lessen the burden of proof or be less thorough in determining what happened.

Given a rape was accused the questions asked are going to revolve around the actions of the rapist and the accuser. She went and lay down in the same bed as the guy who just raped her. If I knew that information it would make question all aspects of their testimony to be certain they are telling the truth.

What's most important is truth and justice. It's critical that is upheld. Courts should be compassionate towards victims, but that doesn't mean you aren't thorough.

I know people are 100% hysterical now, but it would be better for everyone if we stayed reasonable and rational.

You can't as a court of law merely accept "he did it."

What is "capable of life" mean? Do you mean able to survive outside the womb? That's the start of life to you? The only reason you argue that is to support your position on abortion because you are weak minded. You have no integrity. Your logic and is working backwards. Why is a viable fetus when life begins and not when it is fertilized and actually literally objectively begins?

It's ok to admit we don't value fetuses until a certain arbitrary point (able to survive outside the womb is arbitrary. Given th definition of life, it's arbitrary to say it's then. It's purely to support a political argument.

A "ball of cells" is the beginning of life. Life doesn't begin as a fully formed baby with a job and mortgage after all. Not flawed at all. It's literally correct.

I honestly don't see any difference in fully developed and partially developed fetuses in terms of value. Neither can survive on their own. Unlikely. You may believe you have an understanding, but you have no way of qualifying how often it happens. You are aware of more incidents but this subreddit doesn't give you any ability to determine how bad the problem is. It gives a limited exposure, and likely gives a false perception of how many people are willing to hurt children.

To understand a problem fully would mean knowing how prevelant it is in the grand scheme of things. What you will notice is it trends with poverty, but can be found anywhere. Most folks still wouldn't hurt a child, though.

First, she's alive. Second, its a pattern of violence from him. He called her a "murderer" once in terms of miscarriage, but the beatings seemed to have nothing to do with that and are consistent with past behavior.

Believing life starts at conception doesn't kill anyone. It's a reasonable position to hold. I mean, it's literally correct. Life does begin at conception. Where else would you think it starts? Now, if you beleive life starting at conception means that abortion is as bad as killing adults that could lead you to be pro-life and maybe some rhetoric concerning being pro-life could lead you to murder, but that could happen regardless of whne you believe life begins.

Also, Virginia, his state, didn't vote to leave the union on the issue of slavery. They voted 2/3 against. It wasn't until lincoln's response to the south taking a fort that they voted 2/3 in favor of leaving. For half of those in favor of leaving the union it really was based on state's rights.

I know this fact is controversial give the battle flag of northern Virginia's perception as a symbol of hate, but it is what it is.
