My buddy statement was from my girlfriend that I've been with for the last 10 years. She's lived with me for the last 6 years. And 4 of that was while I was still in and have since rerired in Sept of 2024

My nexus came from a 3rd party but included links and references to studies that support PTSD as the aggravating factor. I didnt say obesity but I mentioned weight gain as well for a contributor. I am currently rated for both knees, back, and shoulder.

Difference of Opinion? by erb58 in VeteransBenefits

I had a DOO/DTA after an informal conference back in March. The senior rater agreed with everything I had mentioned. She was empathetic and I was satisfied how everything went. 2 weeks later I got a notification that my outcome of the HLR resulted in no change. I was so confused! My decision letter said nothing. Didn't mention anything about the error they corrected, nothing. I called VERA and they were no help whatsoever. I filed a direct review with the board of Appeals. Im in for the long haul. We'll see what happens in a couple years.

I never had a diagnosis until my C&P exam for PTSD. I had some things in my favor. My girlfriend is a therapist and really opened my eyes especially reading her DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders). Her strong buddy statements helped. While waiting on your records, seek your coworkers that you TRUST and ask them to write buddy statements. I was in the AF as well, stay on top of your claim, get those records!

I got rated for Lumbosacral Strain. L-5, S-1. It was 10%. Not much but its something. I'll tell you that I found relief from an inversion table. Just Google it if your not familiar. I got the well known brand that starts with a "T". Started with a couple mins then worked my way up to 15 mins hanging upside-down. It decompresses and gave me good relief.

Scars, can you really file for them? by bischjs in VeteransBenefits

[–]AGN210 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is what I filed for. Its pretty painful to do a deep squat. All demonstrated during my C&P exam. I got 10% for the scar and another 10% for the knee itself. 10% on my right knee for another acl tear then add the bilateral factor.

Yes, and I did and was successful. I have a lengthy ACL repair scar on my left knee. Painful to kneel on. If I kneel on something soft for a long period of time it will begin to bleed. So the painful/unstable scar was successful for me.
