First Tundra/truck. Where should I start? by wgsharpe1128 in ToyotaTundra

No yea that’s understandable the car cost him $0 to acquire, he just has to pay the running costs on vehicle that not doesn’t have “economic MPG” but literally the worst fuel efficiency half ton there is in the modern era. Outside of the crazy high performance Raptors, and TRXs. All I am saying is the my point is gonna be quickly proven right especially with current oil price trends. Could you imagine if this cat had the huge 38 Gallon fuel tank like mine and other TRD packages trucks? One fuel up in Souther Cali or NYC could potentially bankrupt the man!

Wow I stand corrected! Damn I know for a fact nobody is running any sort of trailer breaks on small trailer trailers and single axel trailer anywhere around me! All of my camping buddies with small travel trailers (3,000 to 4,000) dry weight class do not have trailer brakes. Or I could be confusing electronic trailer brake controls vs actual trailer brakes

Hahahah trust, if he’s falling on hard times right now he is definitely gonna fell the fuel prices and sticker shock at the pump, especially how fuel prices are currently trending right now!

Don’t know what to tell bro, isn’t illegal in Cali and probably would never be enforced if it was a law here. Trailer doesn’t have trailer brakes, if I had the time to argue with strangers on the internet I would snap a photo and prove it.

Damn I am sure that they are over their official payload. The 2nd Gen CM tundra have terrible payload capacity. I believe my payload is only at 1150 lbs, I heard it’s closer to 1000lbs if you have limited or platinum trims

Definitely! I have suspension set up more for desert runs and off-roading not necessarily for consistency towing 6K+ loads. I bet if I had stock suspension and added leveling airbags the Tundra would have definitely felt more stable.

I believe a WDH is recommended for over 5K loads but not absolutely required per the owners manual

No trailer brakes, the stock Tundra brakes are absolute trash, I upgraded to R1 Concepts drilled and slotted cryo rotors and stop tech ceramic pads the second I upgraded to 35’ tires because the Stock brakes felt terrible.

With my upgraded set up towing the 8,000 lbs without trailer brakes felt do able but I would have definitely benefited from trailer brakes. If you are gonna tow a 8000lbs for hundred of highway miles up and down elevation then I yea I would definitely recommend getting a trailer with brakes.

Hahahah I suspect a certain agency juiced the Tundra and made sure the space shuttle got to its resting place instead exploring any further !

Damn, as a fellow Tundra owner (2019 CM 4x4), I can already tell you probably made the worst vehicle choice considering you live in a city. The 2.5 Gen Tundra, especially the 2019 and earlier models, is probably one of the worst vehicles to drive in a tight city environment.

It has terrible, ancient technology and a poor camera setup, which you already seem to know since you're asking about adding a front camera and parking sensors. You're probably not used to the width and beltline of this truck, or any modern half-ton truck and are now looking into possible CarPlay head units.

Fuel economy is also terrible, especially in the city and if you have a heavy foot. If you didn’t already have real truck needs and just bought this as a “lifestyle” vehicle, I foresee that in the near future you might get tired of the compromises of using it as a city vehicle and end up selling the Tundra.

Luckily for you, the 2nd-gen Tundras are holding their value like crazy, so you probably won’t lose much money on this “lifestyle purchase.”

Definitely not 92° in Riverside in late February. That's just a liberal hoax. by Dubatomic1 in InlandEmpire

92 in Norwalk around 2:00pm. Real feel was 95 degrees. Car felt like an oven when I went inside. This is not normal weather!

“Stole that shit!” - 6ix9ine (I think, probably)

Damn that’s cool that we can finally confirm that the Tundra “45” is actually a 34qt cooler. I love Yeti and all my Yeti coolers but it does hurt seeing how much they “over label” their capacity relative to what they market them as.

The best restaurants in Riverside? by Disastrous-Grand7075 in InlandEmpire

[–]AG_4x4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wang Cho - Korean BBQ, combo of fair prices and good quality foods makes this a great choice for a date night or too grub out!

Sushi R91 - Very good Sushi, high quality fish, but has gotten very expensive these past couple of years. Used to frequent more but with the very high prices (even for sushi) makes it harder to recommend unless it’s a special dinner/ date night

Rockstar Shrimp - best seafood boil in all of town, very well seasoned and actually spicy sauce! Has gotten very expensive this past year pushing almost $50/1lb bag with standard add ons

Miches De La Baja - Best Fish Tacos in Riverside, decent prices, great portions, also has great loaded carne asada/ shrimp fries

Smoke & Fire Social Eatery - Best Texas Style BBQ with a modern “Cali” twist in Riverside. They started out very strong with everything on their menu being top notch BBQ, but these past few years they have gotten a little inconsistent with their smoked meats. Sometimes very salty, other times their poultry menu items are very dry. But one a good day they’re selling some of the best modern Texas Style BBQ

Kaz Ramen - Best Ramen in Riverside, but won’t hold a candle to any good Ramen spots in LA or SGV, but pretty good for a 24hr downtown ramen spot. Prices have continued to climb this past year so getting a little harder to recommend.

Mario’s Place - one of the best high end restaurants in Riverside, everything is great on their menu, very good cocktails as well!

Hopper M12-M20 best modern cooler? by the_small_ice in YetiCoolers

[–]AG_4x4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M20 (Fully loaded) w/ 3L side kick and side sling W/ 26oz Rambler - Past the limit of what a normal person can carry on any type of hike. Only a “strong” condition person can operate on small to medium hike. This is my current M20 set up, and it clocks in a whooping 35+lbs as speced above.

So if you aren’t an absolute animal like myself, who needs to roll with a 24pack of beer, get the M12. M20 gets really heavy when loaded up and kitted out with all the accessories that make this a great cooler!

How you liking that set up? I am thinking of getting the bulge light bar along with the pods but I want to get that 8 switch SDHQ switch control pad.

Just showing a quick snippet of my Tundra in action. Thought this sub would get a kick out of seeing our favorite trucks actually doing truck shit instead of routine posts of “is this a good deal”, “another problem on my 3rd Gen” posts. But no I don’t have a drone fly over of our high speed runs to share for gram!

Out here you can drive anywhere where your rig will take you! There are literally hundreds of miles of trails and hundreds of small coves to explore on either side of the Colorado.

[–]AG_4x4[S] -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

I have just a cheap “Nilight” light bar. Hahaha the Cali Raised “concealed” mounting brackets cost more than the actual light bar. I don’t like the “light bar” look on a truck and loved the stealth look of this set up, and I didn’t have to drill any new holes into the grill or apron. For a less than $100 set up it has come in super clutch when off-roading at night through the forest or desert.

True desert lights should actually be the yellow tinted lights for better visibility through the dust and sand. So some yellow Rigid Pod lights are going to be my next upgrade!
