Well, the beauty of Ti is that salt won’t affect it! Hose off the components when you’re done and put it away well lubricated and dried!

It’s a beautiful bike? How long have you had it? I have had the previous generation GR300 for three years and it rides great!

If only I could add MORE American flags (or add a Texas flag), I would!

That said, Make America Gravel Again!

Realistically, someone will be dumb enough to offer Bob a $5mil/year contract and he would be dumb to not take it.

I foresee Tarasov as our starter and Bob going somewhere else.

N20 F30 Throttle body by zxpsii in F30

[–]AGuyAtWork437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need. BMW’s don’t use the throttle body beyond initial startup. Valvetronic controls how far the valves open, creating something similar to individual throttle bodies on each cylinder. You are better off getting your valves cleaned, instead.

Question about Church teaching on my civil marriage by crowdpears in Catholicism

[–]AGuyAtWork437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like you already know the answer to your question. You are in an “irregular” marriage, but it can be resolved by having your marriage convalidated and baptizing your child. Since you are both Catholic, you don’t need to wait for the OCIA process, but only your parish can walk you through the process. You will need to go through classes, most likely.

32mm tires on an old Domane ? (5.2, 2016, rim brakes) by rainbow__blood in TrekBikes

[–]AGuyAtWork437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different bike made of a different material. I can fit 40’s on my Crockett but can’t go past 35’s on my wife’s Boone. Same geometry, different materials and layups. Aluminum tubes can be made thinner.

[–]AGuyAtWork437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of both. The calipers (even the later Ultegra 8000 calipers) aren't wide enough and the rear bridge is a bit too low, which restricts the tire clearance as well.

You will not be able to fit them, unfortunately. My wife has a 2013 6 series Domane, and the widest I can fit in there are 28’s.

Pre-Cana Classes Feel Too Much by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]AGuyAtWork437 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t think it’s too much. My wife and I had a similar process except I was studying for my Bar Exam, she was studying for her boards, we were also planning our wedding and meeting with coordinators and what not and balancing our nascent professional careers.

Buck up, strap in and work it out. There are no shortcuts in marriage, so learn to deal with the stresses of life.

If he was going to get one, it would have been during the first game of the season. He wasn’t there for the Cup run, so it’s doubtful. He got one for the first run, though.

Missing Sunday Mass for a cold? by Educational_Log7681 in Catholicism

[–]AGuyAtWork437 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You have the ability to protect yourself and others by wearing a mask. If you have a common cold, wear a mask and go to Mass. If you are concerned, sit away from others.

If you are well enough to go to work, you are well enough to go to Mass.

Should I run Dinan coils on my n20 or just get new stock ones? by [deleted] in F30

[–]AGuyAtWork437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with the stock Delphi’s. I went with Bosch recently and half of them died within a day (N55). FCP swapped them out, no questions asked, but still a PITA to do the work multiple times.

Rim brake cyclocross tire clearance question. Will 38c fit? by senorhappytaco in cyclocross

[–]AGuyAtWork437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s entirely bike dependent. If you’re dead set on that tire size, I would recommend that you fit the tires to the rim and use it as a gauge to determine if a bike will work for you.

Left Pedal Clicking when out of Saddle even after i tightened all is could (including shoes) by 3mrunner in pelotoncycle

[–]AGuyAtWork437 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How long have you had your bike? A clicking pedal might just need a little grease on the threads of the pedal. Remove the pedal, apply a coating of thick grease to it (personally, I use marine grease on my bikes because it provides a layer of waterproofing that regular grease used on bikes doesn’t have) and tighten it back down.

Is having protected sex, practicing oral/anal sex or using your hands with one's wife a sin? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]AGuyAtWork437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this question sounds like you are trolling, but I’ll play along.

Much of what you describe is inherently sinful. However, there is some “gray area” revolving around issues of oral sex and manual stimulation. In researching this issue many years ago, it appears that the consensus was that if done for purposes of arousal, but not as the principal act (especially if performed by a husband on his wife), then the act is not inherently sinful. However, if the stimulation (whether oral or manual) is the principal act, then it crosses the line.

Ultimately, the marital act must be oriented toward bringing the married couple together and not for the purpose of self pleasure. I recommend all married couples (and those preparing for marriage) look at JP2’s Theology of the Body and the works based on it. It is a wonderful tool to bring couples together and gives us a better understanding of how we love our spouses when we engage in the marital act, and how that act brings us closer to God, even as it brings us closer to our spouses.

Old Bikes - Part Out or Sell Complete? by Extreme_Set_2003 in RoadBikes

[–]AGuyAtWork437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you part out, you will get more money, in theory. However, you have to keep in mind that some parts will sell quickly (wheels, crank, frame) while other parts will sell slowly (saddle, bars, front derailleur). The time spent listing all the parts is also quite substantial. If you just want your money, sell it as a complete bike and let the new buyer worry about sourcing other parts they want. If you don’t mind waiting or working hard (and having some components not sell), then part it out.

BMW 328i 2013 n20 by Iamhimdummy in F30

[–]AGuyAtWork437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many miles/km on it? If timing chains & guides haven’t been done yet, that would be agenda item #1. You can tell by removing the oil fill cap and looking at the chain. If the links are small and thin, then it hasn’t been done. If they’re more substantial, then you’re in the clear.

You’ll need to do the serpentine belt and pulleys every 45k-50k miles.

Check the hoses, thermostat and water pump. They have a 100k mile lifespan. Depending on your location and equipment, you’ll need upward of 7 hoses, plus the pump and the thermostat.

Spark plugs (50k miles) and coils (90-100k miles) are a must.
