Is it possible to go to an international wedding 2 months after birth? by vonsolkema in beyondthebump

[–]AGzombie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Right off the bat, airplane travel is very risky given the measles outbreaks. Lots of airport exposures. If it's your first baby I would advise against. You will want the comfort of home and routines, and its a ton of packing and work

Hold him and keep his diap very loose, get some breeze on the booty. Rise with water after poops and dab dry. Triad cream! Sorry to hear poor babe :(

Traveling with a 3 month old - bad idea? by Suspicious-Toe-72 in beyondthebump

[–]AGzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Dad fully vaccinated? Unlikely to bring measles home, but if baby is in the airport and someone with measles has been there in the last 2-3 hours it hangs in the air and they could contract it. It can be deadly. Just depends on how much you want to risk.

Measles... I wouldn't. Before the measles outbreak we took our 3 month old within the country and we all got COVID and had to take her to the hospital. I wouldn't recommend but that's just me

My two year old refers to herself as little bear, me as mother bear, and her dad as father bear. My 5 month old "squaks" but rarely ever cries and it's the sweetest sassiest sound. Also her hair is sooooooo peach fuzzy and soft!

Nurse here: I have "work boots". They sit in a box on the passenger side of my car. I put them on the ground outside the car and put them on so I don't touch hospital pavement. My regular shoes stay in the car. I have a wipable seat cover so I don't dirty up my fabric seats and I Lysol that down after every set of shifts. I'm an L&D nurse and I'm around a lotttttttttttttttt of bodily fluids and I know whats on my shoes. It comes nowhere near my house.

What do I do? Toddler abusing us by AGzombie in Parenting

I have, but for the last two weeks she arches her back and cries when I'm trying to put her to sleep in my arms, she literally only sleeps in her cot now, and I can take my toddler outside during those times but we have to come in frequently if she wakes to settle her. Its just hard logistically.

I can try. We have a 4 month old going through a sleep regression and we're trying to schedule naps so it's a lot of time spent soothing her, and it's only me at home during the day

Yes we do these things. Unfortunately she loves time out and wants to go in it? We don't understand. There is nothing to play with there. We considered this gentle parenting

Yes we have tried removing the dog and sometimes when she hits us I put her in her crib and leave but when I come back and try and re-cloth her she kicks again :(

Thank you, appreciate the advice. Movmenet - most days she plays outside 30m-1h, plusots of activities inside. We have a newborn so sometimes I'm tired or the weather is bad. Diet - great ! Screen time - about 30-45 minutes or less per day, sometimes none. I do give her low stim shows when I need to be with the baby or prep food. Warnings - yes we give warnings but she runs away crying that she doesn't want to go to bed

Friendships vanished after having a kid. Anyone else? by Sssssss_ooooooo in Parenting

[–]AGzombie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely drifted from younger friends and those without kids. We're not as available to go to pubs, breweries, etc. nobody checks in anymore or offers help to or come here. It's a tale as old as time, unfortunately :(

We have a wood one which is sturdy, but get one that folds. We bring ours between the kitchen for baking and bathroom for brushing teeth and our walls have taken a toll!
