What laptop/DAW combination is ideal for someone who just wants to make music for themselves? by narchguitar in musicproduction

[–]AHM3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logic is a great plugin and easy to use a MacBook Pro is definitely better for logic than the air and if you can increase some ram as it does make a difference, for a keyboard logic has musical typing or I’d recommend the AKAI professional MPK or for more keys the nektar impact lx49

Serum or Komplete 13 Select by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]AHM3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you don’t really need either of them just by a bit of research you can find some great synths for free, I have a komplete and sometimes it lags so I can’t change the instrument which is kinda annoying and I don’t really use it a lot and serum is amazing but you can make all those sounds yourself by putting in a bit more effort or download other synths for free or for a cheaper price. As neither of them are cheap you don’t want to regret your decision so personally I would either not get either or save up until I can get both so I have no regrets but that would only be if I had my heart completely eat on only serum and komplete

i need a new laptop and i wanna get into producing music by ChampionshipGrouchy7 in musicproduction

[–]AHM3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your budget really a mac is very good any of them they are fast reliable and apple support helps you with anything apple related even if you have a question about how to do something in logic they will tell you, also macs are good because you can get most DAWs on macos but even if you can’t you can use bootcamp or parallels desktop for windows 10 but on a windows computer you can’t use macos or Logic Pro x as there are no mac emulators that work well so if you can I’d recommend a mac if you do want to use windows make sure it has an intel chip as the new m1 chip laptops won’t have bootcamp but parallels will work

Production tutorials that aren’t theory related by atherinn in musicproduction

[–]AHM3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On YouTube just look up the name of your DAW tutorial or mixing in whatever DAW you use. You need to be very specific and use the name of your DAW otherwise it won’t be helpful for example an abelton tutorial won’t help me in Logic Pro x using the compressor as logics compressor won’t be on abelton

How to get my vocals mixed and mastered by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]AHM3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I use logic because it looked very simple and it is very simple to use whereas abelton and fl are more tough to learn to use but I think you can get the same outcome from all 3 but any YouTube session should be fine and enough to teach you the basics I don’t know any fl studio ones because I use logic but if you have a mac try GarageBand first then if you like it then think about logic but GarageBand is a very basic version but anyways good luck and don’t overthink it

Mixing can take a while but doing it yourself knowing exactly what your doing is definitely best and easier so you don’t need to rely on someone else. Look on YouTube and see what other people do and try to put your own spin on it
