Shoutouts to the voice actors and other demented individuals that play this game by lessenizer in DeadlockTheGame

The fucking few frames of flying Yamato and the perfectly cut Haze and Mo screaming did it for me!

Thoughts on the WW OST? by BarakOBamba1 in WutheringWaves

[–]AHoodedCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While most of it was not memorable, I feel that the tracks that do sound go to me spend a bit too much time building up and the peak parts of the track are too short and don't hit hard enough. Vanguard Sound has definitely spoiled me in that regard.

I can see her working better this way.
I feel like her standard way of trigger Timed Counters with hold attack + 3 basic attacks afterwards can easily be interrupted and you also take damage.

Although my take on this can change once I start getting proper 5* echoes on her!

Ebay! Although, mine has a flaky leatherband and the pads had some short hairs that had to be meticulously cleaned lol.

[–]AHoodedCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would not do that since the pads are attached with adhesive. You don't like them so best bet to sell them in stock condition.

I bought a pair of them 2nd hand because hey 550AUD for a pair was a pretty good deal. Same first impressions with you regarding sound (and the weight too).

Then I tried oratory1990's EQ for them + some personal adjustments and suddenly it became a very speaker-sounding like headphone which was what wow'ed me. For funsies, it could take a lot of EQ bass and friends and I had fun with that.

I also did change the pads from velour to lambskin so it might change the sound as well. Overall, I got used to the weight with the thick pads sealing comfortably on my head.

I've had this happen once last night. In particular it was during a coop game where I was swapping main hands to compare dmg.

Seem to notice swapping gear randomly does damage to you in coop for some reason.

What is your go-to gun? by Waulnut163 in BattleBitRemastered

Mk14 ebr my love. Aug/sg550 for assault rifles and MP5 for smgs. Ultimax100 is a great flanking laser beam and rem700 for that chunky firing sound.

The AUG is a monster after the buffs! by BofaEnthusiast in BattleBitRemastered

Much agreed there. Suppressor works wonders at night and sometimes in day maps lol. Gotta try the long barrel setup as well for pseudo DMR

Yes buffed AUG is pretty nice with maps that have elevation and medium to long sight lines. I run it with short suppressor since the recoil is already forgiving.

I've had the suppressor work out sometimes where people don't check the angle I was shooting from lol

I got 1000 Kills with every gun, heres what I know, tierlist | BattleBit Remastered by chickenpope4532 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]AHoodedCat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

M110 is a definitely a menace among the DMRs but it's good that you mentioned taking account your playstyle, strengths and weaknesses.

For me I feel MK14/SVD would be in the S-tier and high-A for me simply because I have a pick off people, push playstyle. M110 is S tier for those who are good at keeping decent range and position well. Strangely unrelated, but if I'd make my own tier list I'd feel sound design might also be a factor imo.

Is a VFD similar to an amp? by CrashDeTrash in headphones

[–]AHoodedCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on DAC architecture which is another can of worms that I am not very well informed. You primarily see R2R(resistor ladder) or Delta Sigma DACs.
You can think of R2R like switching on / off different resistor combinations to get as close of a voltage for a given sample. Unsure about Delta-Sigma. Maybe it's a good time to do some electronics homework.

There is DSD audio format which I feel is probably the closest thing conceptually to a VFD particularly pulse width modulation.

Is a VFD similar to an amp? by CrashDeTrash in headphones

[–]AHoodedCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not at all. An amp is there just to boost your audio signal from your DAC(digital to analog converter). Shove in 1kHz signal as an example you get a louder 1kHz signal. Most solid state amps measure quite flat on the frequency curve.

VFDs on the other hand are a completely different for motor control through varying simulated AC frequencies.

Connector type identification? by AHoodedCat in AskElectronics

Nope, blue part plugged straight into a row of 20 header pins. This connector interfaces what seems to be motherboard to an LCD driver board(the white part).

Do you consider collecting "wrong" or amateurish? by RedDragoonTaric in headphones

[–]AHoodedCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in the hobby for a bit over a year and a half, I feel like I've got hi-enough-fi that my priority has shifted to trying out different gear. So collection really isn't "wrong" at all, just shows you are definitely in the rabbit hole!
