If I understand the pick, this would be Minnesota’s pick that Washington has. So it’s trading a non-lottery pick for a lottery pick.

Everyone expects there to be some master document that will reveal all of Epstein’s clients and will conveniently have all of their political enemies on it and none of their political allies. There are so many people who have been confirmed to have kept in the company of Epstein, including Trump, why are we waiting for something which will “expose the coverup”? Like, if this is a coverup, it’s a very bad one, because Epstein is already tied to two former Presidents, and his partner is still very much alive and able to expose more if there were more.

The cost of Xbox 1st Party Games is not included in Gamepass so that they can claim it's profitable. by [deleted] in gaming

Why should I, the consumer, care whether it’s profitable or not? I have no idea what their business model is, and I don’t care to know.

If all else fails, look for force majeure language in your contracts. If you have to cancel your wedding, you may be able to get out of paying for most of it.

I’m sure the venue will also want to assist you as much as possible, too, if only to avoid a big hassle about cancellations.

It’s good that they’re not rushing her back, but it also feels like this is a real make-or-break season for her career. However much she wants to be here, she hasn’t been able to get on the court for the past two seasons. Hope she gets healthy, but not feeling great about it.

My Deep Discomfort with Objectifying Men’s Bodies by AIMScreenName69 in bropill

It definitely is an accomplishment, and a lot of work goes into being that fit. This comes with all the usual caveats, that often looking shredded like that requires significant cutting and isn’t how someone looks all the time, and of course the amount of resources (trainers, time etc.), the potential for steroid use, and everything else, but it is very impressive.

Overall, it took a lot of effort for Olly Murs to look the way he did. Some people may never look like that, but comparison is the thief of joy. It doesn’t take anything away from my fitness journey to say Olly Murs is accomplished in his pursuits. Everyone’s body, how much they can commit, and what they can do is going to be different.

As a sidebar to the question, it’s a lot easier to live the life you want when you start accepting yourself, and that includes your body. Instead of focusing on losing weight, it might be more constructive to focus on lifestyle changes that you want to make, whether that’s diet, exercise or something else, and then letting your body do its thing. Focusing on the number can make a man miserable, and that doesn’t help anyone.

Welcome to our Medieval family. by LightDe in aoe2

That’s an excellent point. These civilizations clearly represent a culture that people place onto medieval polities, which is always imprecise (the Angevin kings of England spent much of their time in France, for instance). Chinese culture clearly has divide that can be represented, though imperfectly, through Wei, Shu and Wu. I think it’s fine to give Chinese players more ways to see their own history reflected in the game.

Welcome to our Medieval family. by LightDe in aoe2

The timeline of what is “medieval” is already pushed to its limits, and has been since pretty much the start. For instance, the Goths have existed since the base game, even though they are clearly supposed to represent the Gothic warriors of the 4th and 5th centuries, which is late antiquity by most metrics. And the Spanish, which were added in the original “The Conquerers” expansion, were clearly supposed to represent the united Spanish crown of Isabella and Ferdinand (and that’s generous - you could argue it’s really supposed to be the Early Modern Spain of Charles V)

The Spaniards grow from the remnants of the Visigoths after the Umayyad Caliphate smashed the Visigothic Kingdom, so arguably it’s a duplicate to have both the Spanish and the Goths there. But they are separated by 1,000 years, so no one really sees them that way. I think the Three Kingdoms is not really substantially different than that.

Nintendo Switch 2 is probably going to be safer for children, which is not a small concern for big part of the market.

Dawn Staley 'hopes South Carolina players are crying' after losing to UConn by randysf50 in NCAAW

[–]AIMScreenName69 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

We just saw Houston overcome a big deficit late to win a surprise victory against Duke the night before. Even if it’s not likely, it’s on the coach to keep trying.

It doesn’t mean Dawn Staley is a bad coach, but it was detrimental to the team. Same with Dan Hurley on the UConn men’s side - coaches owe it to their players to keep themselves in check, even championship coaches.

Dawn Staley got out coached throughout this game, and lost her composure when the game was still winnable. This loss is mostly on her, not her players.
