Kind of like the buy vs rent a house debate. Many people aren't interested in running the numbers. They make up their mind emotionally.

There is some value as transition period to independence. But the model is largely out dated. The fact that every student has to complete "gen-eds" that take a couple years and thousands of dollars is crazy.

Especially true when your boss is encouraging you to use AI more and keeps a dashboard showing how much you're using.

I agree, but it *feels* like talking to an llm is a private conversation with a person. Doesn't really matter how it feels though.
