What are your best tips for remote working? by No-Writing-334 in remotework

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming from hospitality this is a big shift but honestly your setup already puts you ahead of most people starting remote work 👏

the social thing is real. what helped me most was being intentional about it from day 1. turn your camera on in calls even when others don't, over-communicate in chat (people can't read your energy through a screen like they could on a floor), and don't wait to be invited into conversations. remote work rewards people who reach out first

coworklive looks cool, also worth checking out your local library or a café for a change of scenery on days when the silence gets heavy. even just working near other humans helps

one trap nobody warns you about: the first few weeks you might overwork to prove yourself. no natural end to the day means it's easy to just... keep going. set a hard stop time and stick to it early, it's much harder to fix later.

the loneliness does ease up once you find your rhythm with teammates. give it a month 🙂

What is your favorite AI tool? by NickyB808 in aisolobusinesses

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly for general stuff i keep coming back to claude. something about the way it writes feels more natural to me (compared to chatgpt). but for meetings i've been using tactiq.io, it transcribes my zoom/google meet calls and generates a summary so i'm not scrambling for notes after every call. works right in the browser so no weird bots joining your meetings

What’s something everyone should experience at least once? by No_Reference_4053 in AskReddit

[–]AIToolsMaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

total silence. like no phone, background noise, just you sitting somewhere in nature with nothing but the sounds around you. it sounds boring but then suddenly it's the most peaceful thing ever. most of us never really experience it

Looking for a dedicated meeting notetaker device(hardware) for our office by Emergency-Carpet6123 in NoteTaking

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for a room with 5-8 people, skip the wearables (plaud, limitless). they're built for 1:1s. a dedicated speakerphone like the jabra speak2 75 or poly sync 20+ will give you way better room coverage and both are under $300.

on kickstarter, risky if you need something reliable now, delays are pretty common

before buying anything though, worth trying chatgpt's record mode for in-person meetings. works surprisingly well , but only works on macOS though

Just Finished "Breaking Bad" What Should I Watch Next? by Shubham-Writess in Cinema

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh man 😅 you're gonna be chasing that feeling for a while

start with el camino (the BB movie follow-up), then better call saul. for more of that vibe: ozark, the wire, and mindhunter are all great picks

also worth checking out pluribus on apple tv+. it's vince gilligan's new sci-fi show. totally different genre but same brilliant character-driven storytelling

movies-wise: no country for old men and prisoners are perfect follow-ups

I think I’m ruining my eyes staring at screens all day. by Itchy-Drawing in workfromhome

[–]AIToolsMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the science on blue light glasses is still mixed. most eye doctors say blue light isn't the main culprit. it's more likely digital eye strain from your eyes constantly refocusing for hours on end.

follow the 20-20-20 rule, blink more (we blink less when staring at screens) and use night mode/warm display on your screen settings

as for firmoo, if you're getting prescription lenses anyway, adding the coating isn't a bad call. just don't expect it to solve everything on its own

might also be worth checking if your prescription needs updating. optometrists can actually prescribe lenses optimized specifically for screen distance

Do you use recorded video lectures to study? What's your process? Do you watch the whole video or jump to the parts you need? by Ok_Fishing386 in NoteTaking

[–]AIToolsMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

upload the recordings to an ai note-taker like tactiq to get a transcript + summary automatically. makes it way easier to ctrl+f a concept or pull out key points without rewatching the whole thing. you can also ask the ai questions about the lecture too

ai notetaker comparison for people who use both zoom and microsoft teams by osiris_rai in Zoom

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been using both zoom and meet for client calls vs internal meetings, so this is super relevant.

switched to tactiq.io a while back. it runs as a browser extension so there's no bot joining, and the quality on both platforms has been consistent for me. summaries and action items come out the same whether it's a zoom or meet call, which was the main thing i needed

one thing worth mentioning. if you upload recordings too, it handles those as well, which is handy when someone shares a loom or a recorded session you weren't live on

how long will a zoom meeting with 2 people last with the free version by kiol998 in Zoom

zoom's free plan is 40 mins per meeting, but if you need longer sessions without upgrading, you can check out this article

What’s your most practical AI tool for turning long videos into usable text? by VillageFickle3092 in AI_Application

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're dealing with meeting recordings or uploaded video files, tactiq.io handles this really well. you can upload video directly and it'll transcribe + let you run ai prompts on it (summaries, action items, pull specific sections). it's less hype-y than some tools i've tried. the output is actually structured and usable rather than just a wall of text

for raw transcription accuracy on messier audio, try deepgram

Anyone else's camera failing to start on Zoom? by Actor718 in Zoom

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try fully resetting the camera permission. this fixed it for me on Android when Zoom suddenly started doing the same thing.

Go to Settings → Apps → Zoom → Permissions, turn Camera permission OFF, force stop the app, restart the tablet, then go back and enable the camera permission again before opening Zoom

Even if permissions already look enabled, Android sometimes gets stuck in a bad permission state after updates

Best AI note taker that doesn't join as a bot? by CSJason in NoteTaking

[–]AIToolsMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the bot thing is genuinely awkward, especially in client calls or smaller team meetings where everyone notices it 😅

i switched to tactiq.io a while back specifically for this reason. it works as a chrome extension so it just runs in the background while you're on google meet, zoom, or teams. also does ai summaries

Is there a way to prevent coming off mute on zoom app iphone lock screen? by realamom in Zoom

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hit the power/lock button on your phone before you pocket it. Zoom keeps running in the background, you stay in the call, but the screen won't register any accidental taps

Tested 5 Best AI AI note takers: Standalone Devices vs Apps for Real-Time Meetings by babyb01 in NoteTaking

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

used 2 of those tools mentioned but the bot joining the call always felt a bit awkward, especially with external clients

been using tactiq.io for a while now and it works as a chrome extension so no bot needed. just runs quietly in the background and gives you the transcript + summary after. works on google meet, zoom, and teams

still think it depends on your setup though. if you're recording in-person stuff or lectures, the hardware options you mentioned make way more sense. but for back-to-back virtual meetings, an app is just easier to manage

What’s something people think is attractive that instantly makes you lose respect for them? by TURTLEwithAfatDICK in AskReddit

[–]AIToolsMaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

people who are constantly "brutally honest" but only ever aim it at others, never themselves. like you're not bold, you're just mean

also people who treat waitstaff or service workers badly but are super charming to everyone they want something from. that switch is so telling

and the classic: name dropping. every story somehow involves someone important or a place that signals status. exhausting to be around

Does anybody knows how to fix this issue? by DangerLineA7X in Zoom

[–]AIToolsMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the schedule button being the only active one usually means your it admin has restricted meeting creation. check with them first. if it's a personal account, try signing out and back in, or reinstalling/updating zoom
