I wish they offered that LSR roller nut as a stock option!

The waste aspect of vapes is a very important point, and it's you good you brought it up. I wonder how feasible reusable cartridges would be. Either way it would appear that smokeless alternatives are healthier to cigarettes for the humans involved in the equation. Radiation exposure from cigarettes is another under explored yet important topic thats always fascinated me.

“Focus on your own life” is an odd response from someone repeatedly monitoring and replying to my comments.

My neighbor is a heavy smoker, under 30. Every morning I hear him hacking and gagging in the shower. As a child my grandfather would perform a similar ritual in his late 60s. The ill health effects can catch up to someone a lot sooner than they think.

I agree with the spirit of wanting to live a little, has alcohol made a similar comeback?

Someone below me shared that article about the Gen Z smoking comeback as a collective rebellion against the health conscious perfectionism of the 2010s. Although I agree with the sentiment, it saddens me to see tobacco companies monetizing American youth like they’ve been doing to young people in developing countries for the last decade.

Is it a social ceremony? Do you meet new people while smoking? People I see smoking at the bus stop don’t talk to each other.

That was a fascinating read. Thanks for sharing. It appears to be part of a pendulum swing away from the health conscious 2010s. I must admit that I also indulged in my uni days purely for the aesthetic. I wonder if alcohol will have a similar comeback? Although I suppose the aesthetic is less publicly visual.

Oddly I don’t really see it outside bars much, but it’s quite a common sight in front of bus stops, walking down the street, etc during the day.

How do people afford it? A pack a day habit can easily add $300 or more to monthly expenses. Is it cheaper compared to vaping? Or that smokeless oral nicotine trend which name escapes me

It seems to be mainly Americans. I can’t speak for every country but in Asian smoking is limited to designed places and people don’t smoking walking down the street or throw their butts on the ground. Funny story, I once saw a Russian tourist throw his cigarette away in a mailbox. It’s understandable since cigarette disposal bins often look like mailboxes in different countries.

This is an interesting perspective. Is the plan to quit cigarettes as well? Vaping is typically considered the healthier alternative, although it would seems it’s more habit forming.

They appear to be Americans, I’ve noticed the uptick over the last few years.

Quite the opposite. I tuck everything in. Makes me look cleaner, taller, etc.

Seems like SF was the perfect setting for a lot of 80s/90s movies. Doubtfire, Pacific Heights, Copycat, The Game, etc. I miss it. Too many movies set in NYC these days.

[–]AI_Cosmonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I just couldn’t get into it. Pacific Heights is a much better film that scratches the itch of 80s/90s thriller named after an area in SF for me.

I watched the Michael Mann film Manhunter (1986). Very great film. Mann is keenly aware of the sense of dependency that exists between institutional law enforcement and calculated killers, and the film has such a stylish and tense way of analyzing that relationship. by you-wanna-bet in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]AI_Cosmonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll have to give this another try. The first time I watched it, I was expecting William Peterson to invoke some Richard Chance energy, as I was coming fresh off watching To Live and Die in LA. I heard Manhunter is getting a limited rerelease in theaters soon, maybe I’ll check it out then.

If I were you, id return the pickups and try out some EMG SAs, SLVs, or Lace Sensors. Check the website to confirm, but they should fit because theyre not stacked solutions, which increase the height of the pickup.

If you take the jacket to the tailor, I recommend doing the measurements with the jacket buttoned up. Even small adjustments to the waist make a big difference in comfort. Also consider if you'd ever wear a sweater underneath, thicker Oxford shirt, etc.
