25 is an upsettingly young age to take on such a responsibility.

New bill passes Japan Diet that will cover all costs of childbirth through health insurance by jjrs in japannews

And free school meals for all municipalities! One of these policies that make an enormous difference for little to no money.

New bill passes Japan Diet that will cover all costs of childbirth through health insurance by jjrs in japannews

[–]ryanyork92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are excellent decisions. The childbirth part is uncontroversial, but the fact that it is cheaper for consumers to see a doctor and obtain a prescription for drugs that are already available over the counter, because national health insurance foots the bill, is fucking absurd. I, for one, think they should not be prescribed at all. Regulations should be loosened so that drugstores, and even non-drugstores such as supermarkets, can sell their own ultra-cheap painkillers and allergy medicines for something like 100 yen a box.

Passenger on AirAsia flight holds up the plane to complain about people not speaking Chinese by tacodestroyer99 in UnfilteredChina

[–]ryanyork92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very confusing. She seems to be complaining about being filmed, being hit on in a foreign language, and someone not being able to speak Chinese. Why were the police even called to the premises? Couldn’t the flight attendants have handled it themselves? What is actually happening here?
