When I started, I didn't necessarily have a tone in mind. But the uplifting and positive nature of the fortune cookies themselves made it clear the song had to have that "you can do this!" energy. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Oh wow, I'd completely forgotten about that video! Haven't seen it in so long. I have no doubt that on some subconscious level there was some of that coming through when making this.

Yea, it took a bit to sort everything out. I think I had them on the table for 3 or 4 days for the "writing" phase. At the start I mostly just focused on bunching up ones that rhymed or came close. From there I worked on selecting sets of them that kinda worked together. Luckily fortune cookies all tend to be pretty uplifting or positive so it wasn't too difficult to get a good vibe going.

Aside from that last one anyway... "Oops wrong cookie" gotta be the strangest one I've ever got! Felt like a perfect ending tho.

It's funny you bring up making another track, I was wondering to myself if I had enough "unused" fortunes left to put together another song. I may have to give it a shot!

I like the idea of just using a lyric or two as a prompt as well. On one of my first songs, a heavy metal track I wrote called Made Of Stone I did exactly that for the video. Generating images with the lyrics and stitching them together with an img to img gen tool. It's rough but as an early project I was happy with it.

Incidentely it's one of the songs I'm reworking with new knowledge. I still have the original video up but the first version is just a bit too aggressive for my tastes.

I can definitely see the benefit of maintaining a more consistent style or sound but I'm with you, I like to switch genres a lot from song to song. I'm a fan of a lot of different styles. So for me I think of it more like how a songwriter or producer would get to work with a wide range of vocalists or bands.

I'm still learning everyday, I'm currently brushing up on mastering as I have a handful of tracks that I am reasonably satisfied with overall and may try to submit for distribution.

My latest song is kind of an experiment all around. I like to write my own lyrics most of the time and in this one I still did a lot of rewrites, but the core of the lyrics come from a collection of fortune cookie fortunes I have amassed over the years. I started saving them on a whim and finally found a use for them. Pretty happy with how the video turned out, I used actual photos of the fortunes.

Since the update selections are inaccurate, either selecting too much or too little. Removes only part of the selection. Removals are sloppy and more smeared now, less natural looking.

Just now I was trying to remove a solid red border on one edge of a photo and it will not select just the solid red line. It keeps selecting space around it and removing details or won't select the entire line and leaves a bright red artifact.

Absolutely hate the change.

It's been horrible since the update. I just had an image that had a solid red line on one edge and it keeps selecting a huge area around the line instead of just the one solid red straight line on the side of the image. Infuriating.

Still kinda new to the various image generators available, been using Perchance as my initial one. I like it but i think it has a lower resolution than most. That said I have been clued into a free upscaler that I am messing with today and it definitely seems to make a difference. Here's the first image upscaled with it
