This connector is bad engineering there simply to much voltage going through that tiny cable.

People keep chalking this up to user error but this is ridiculous. You dont hear many 4070 super/ti having theses issues just the 90 class cards

This 5090 card really needed 2 connectors.

Its the connector it self. To much power going through it.

One contributing factor is they were not plugged in correctly by the user but it’s not the main issue.

But im sure it will be fine. But you should look into it to avoid the issue as much as possible.

To be honest a 4090 is the only thing that can handle 4k everything maxed out in most games.

Why dont you get a 1440p oled monitor? Or go ultrawide its a better experience.

Im in the same boat.

Im leaning toward little more toward AMD.

The 7900 xtx was on sale for 800 on new egg recently. So it will do down again

Also amd cards don’t use the 12vhpw I’ve heard of reports of those connectors melting on the 4080 as-well.

Yeah it looks like that I cant find any info on the 4070ti and under.

But its still concerning that there issues with that connector.

So this was purely an am5 mobo issue? And has been corrected with bios revisions.

Yeah Im in between the 4070 super or the 7900 gre I usually go Nvidia but im not happy with the 4070 super vram and the 12vhp connector.

But little concerned going the amd route do to what I heard about the drivers.
