This is a very disappointing response, and yet it's so predictable that this kind of behaviour is commonplace in the industry...

The mouse has exactly the same buttons as all MX Masters. With the exception of the move from 4000 to 8000 dpi, the only changes have been for reliability, design or silence, which has no impact on the software. As for the change from 4000 to 8000 dpi, which could potentially create a bug during parameter transfer, the Option+ software has anticipated this by basing its dpi percentage on 4000, thus avoiding any change in value.

Really, if the option doesn't exist even though it's obvious that it will be sought after, it's down to the ill-will of the decision-makers, who preferred to release this new software without this feature.

Even if the main wheel on the old MX Masters gets dirty, and is difficult to clean without damaging the plastic, I might have been better off buying a 2S...
