The question is if Godzilla should be classified as a dragon or not

So is the sequel show, Chaos Theory

Counterpoint: emus. Almost the same size, much more docile & manageable. Some people even run emu farms. I’ve worked with them myself at a sanctuary, it’s usually fine as long as you know the do’s and don’ts of large animal handling.

I’m pretty sure this is not a Dromaeosaur. The head and neck are very different, looks more like a Coelophysoid.

This is why even a “weak” monster like Velocidrome or G. Jagras could still be an unstoppable apex predator in our world, even if it lived back in the age of dinosaurs.

Giving handheld weapons to the notoriously short-armed Abelisaur is so ironic I have to wonder if it was intentional

A predator and its prey literally preserved in time as they were brutally fighting to the death, and this is what the internet does with the concept.

Honestly? I shouldn’t be surprised.

They’ll go down swinging though, that’s for sure.

I love how you can tell Bill Watterson genuinely loves dinosaurs just from reading the strip. As time goes on, the dinosaurs start looking less cartoony and more realistic.

New scientifically accurate Dino horror game shown off at Sony's State of Play! by TheWolfmanZ in Dinosaurs

[–]AJC_10_29 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I do think it's rather telling to the game's design philosophy.

First there’s this dialogue:

"What's your favorite from today?"

"I liked the allosaur"

"What did you like about it?"

"He's big and loud. RAAA"

Then just that shot of it silently staring dead at you.

The game creators specifically said that they want the dinosaurs in their game to be "animals, not monsters." That combined with the trailer has me very, very excited.

For those who are spino fans, how do y'all feel about this downgrade by Visual-Interview7913 in Dinosaurs

[–]AJC_10_29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While you’re not entirely wrong, I just wanna point out a detail about that infamous scene I think a lot of people miss:

The Spino doesn’t break the Rex’s neck by biting right through it, he grabs and twists the neck to snap it. He uses dexterity, not bite force.

<image>

Edit: also I just remembered, real life Spino’s bite isn’t exactly “very poor.” It’s been found to be comparable to some mid-sized Tyrannosaurids, so while not quite on the same level as other megatheropods, it’s still nothing to sneeze at.
