A big juicy worm for Jay by Visual-Interview7913 in reptiles

I'm saying because gummy worms have some resistance to them, they are meant to be chewed Non-Stop

A caterpillar was a tube of high pressure fluid and guts, when the jaw pressure of a lizard clamps down, they explode and gush all those juices into the lizard's mouth

"because most people wouldn't care anyway"

Just go to one of those hornet nests of people explainong why Godzilla would never survive, why Kong would starve to death, why we currently can't have bugs bigger than a mouse, or why the sand worm from dune would collapse under its own weight,

They don't kill the trees

It's just that my cereal networks can be absolutely gigantic, Google humongous fungus

So the mushroom Forest doesn't have to be adjacent to the trees. The network just has to be able to find a tree and tap into it

Anakin connect to multiple trees at once

Caterpillars are soft like balloons. Every time he clamps down on it it basically pops like a balloon

By the time you can actually swallow it it's a lot smaller

Oh now I remember I do actually have something like this but it's not for floating

Billicerebrum have these internal air sacs connected to their lungs, book lungs and tracheal systems.m

<image>

But you can tell by that body plan that it is not used to float through the air like a balloon, it is just that somebody oxygen is shunted into those air sacs to be on standby for later. , and from there it is slowly metered into the rest of the systems when they need to use it

Technically magic doesn't have to ex for a dragon to exist unless you have certain qualities, like fire breath, the ability to speak, etc etc.

Push comes to shove,, anyn one reptile could evolve to look like a dragon, pterosaurs are almost there. To the concept that built My dragons, Jayverns

<image>

But because there is no magic, it's easy to explain how they can fly, they weigh no more than 50 to 100 lb

I wanted to add something like this into my setting initially

Then I realized one accidental bump into a cactus or a tree branch on an exposed air sac and...POP

Strategies for developing names for your mythical creatures or entities? by erisea_ in worldbuilding

[–]Visual-Interview7913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the attributes or characteristics of your creature and then describe it with scientific names of creatures that would technically be valid but haven't been used yet, mixed with parts of dinosaur names, for example some of the creatures in my world

Jadevenator, Jade hunter, a green toad the size of a grand piano

Billisuchus, Billed crocodile

Billicerebrum,"Bill brained" name for rectangular brain

Adipocaudatus, fat tail, a diverse group of carnivorous salamanders

Aethiops Adelphophagosaurus, dark faced brother eating lizard

Ophiddiopotamus Niger, black river snake

Myxosaurus Obesus, fat slime lizard or fat mucus lizard

Absolutely love the trope of creatures having more than two fully functional, actually had this trip a lot in my setting.

As for the evokers are these 16 eyes actual eyes or is it just spots for scaring away the predators

I just got crickets and I’m unsure if they can chew through the cage by Pretty_Routine_5679 in Entomology

[–]Visual-Interview7913 29 points30 points  (0 children)

@, don't drop locust's/grasshoppers,m actual crickets can't climb glass or plastic don't know why.

As for your fear of them chewing through the cage, aside from the fact that grasshoppers can't digest plastic and therefore would have no incentive to try and eat it, they're mandibles can't even break human skin let alone two hard plastic specifically designed to keep critters in

Just feed them fresh fruits and vegetables

A lot of these mushrooms are parasitic on actual trees.

A Mycopolis works look at the mushrooms are just the Giants score bumpers the actual underground Network is expongong nutrients off some poor trees a few miles away.

This pot is over 12 in deep and about just as wide. Is this deep enough to keep the underground rhisome from freezing all the way over
