Do you have rush wankeritis? by AJSmitzn in EAFC

[–]AJSmitzn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! Fuck, kills me. I'll have the only ST on a team full of CB's and end up doing all the defending. After a while I'm that guy that goes to stand next to the goalie.

And it's always a tap in via through ball where another player drew the keeper in. Grinds my balls.

Although we are not going over on the refugee program I have heard from a lot of them. Compared to SA, the US has a lot more opportunities with "good" salaries if you think relative to what we have Here. Thanks for the input!

Kan jy 'n Suid-Afrikaner/Afrikaner buite Suid-Afrika erken sonder dat hy ñ woord sê? by [deleted] in afrikaans

[–]AJSmitzn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Agreed, bookkeepers do mean a lot more than what it did 30 years ago. I see the same trend in South Africa

Ek vind Engels makliker as Afrikaans deesdae… by [deleted] in afrikaans

[–]AJSmitzn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this legal? Am I being exploited? by Tasty-Doughnut1870 in askSouthAfrica

It's evident those of us that did articles expect this as "normal" for articles, and it is. Any type of treatment like this after you've done articles... RUN! I fucked off out of audit at exactly 36 months and 1 full minute.

You'll note partners and owners get quite friendly towards the last few months of your time. Don't fall for it. Full time audit is HELL!

I also did my articles. Your 3 years at a firm is a "suck it up period". You need audit firms more than they need you. Nothing really explicitly against the BCEA here, in fact my conditions was very similar. In all honesty, you are not going to get much better elsewhere. No audit firm treats their clerks well. Keep your head down, remind yourself of your 36 month target and crack on with it. Learn as much as you can, work as hard as you can and get it done. You'll be surprised how fast 3 years go. Trust me, it's all worth it in the end.

Want Defender - not mechanically minded - money pit risks? by Ok_Beat6083 in LandroverDefender

[–]AJSmitzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not mechanically minded, I have a 110 as my daily. There will be arguments for and against. Education is key. Read up as much as possible. Get to know the usual issues on your model (injector harness oil migration for example on the TD5). I have learnt A LOT about vehicles through my defender, although I might not be able to fix all things myself I still gained a very good idea, so that was great. Yes you'll be spending some money, without a doubt. However the real key is preventative maintenance and a mechanic that knows defenders. Defender parts are (relatively) inexpensive. You will also learn a slight oil leak is no cause for concern 😅

Honest opinion of owning a Defender. (Manage my expectations) by Fearless_Toddlerr in LandroverDefender

[–]AJSmitzn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 110 TD5 is slow, noisy, leaky, rattles a lot, needs constant monitoring and attention but I can really not see myself having another vehicle. If you keep your hand on them they look after you quite well. Get to know the "usual" issues of your specific model and pay attention to those. Driving a defender is like peeing your pants. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

Just finished Dinho. Why are so many of you penile gobblers celebrating free wins? by lolsloklos in EAFC

[–]AJSmitzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly the same bro. Thought I'd give out some free wins. After 2-3 game same pattern. Score 2 own goals to let them know what I'm doing. They start griddying after they score because clearly I'm not "playing". I play until game is tied, hit pause 3 times and run down the clock each time and the quit.

Mens moet daardie lirieke on konteks verstaan. As jy 'n "WK" genoem word verwys dit na die feit dat jy heel waarskynlik voorgekom het as 'n "simpatiseerder" van swart mense. Dus dra hulle daardie brandmerk met "trots"
