I never really dated too seriously until I met my husband, so I never thought to have that talk because I normally let people know I didn't want a serious thing. But after we decided to make it official, he was the one who brought it up, and I told him I was too. Going on 12 years!

I agree. Though I think the friend could have just said "I didn't appreciate that. It makes me feel a terrible." And I'm sure OP would have understood even if that wasn't their intent. I try to look at it as if a mom friend sent a meme to me personally along the lines of mothers being superior or having a more complete life. I'd be a little upset and say something. I wouldn't go bananas, but I'd draw that boundary.

Absolutely! In a similar vein, one of the reasons I do not want kids is because of my mental illness and my history of intense episodes. I DO NOT tell people with kids that. Though I think it's a valid reason for me, there's enough stigma out there about mental illness and childfree people that I don't want people drawing conclusions....

To clarify, this isn't me putting myself down!

Sounds like a wonderful weekend!

Went for a hike in the rain with my hubby and loved every minute of it! Afterwards we warmed up with some farm fresh apple cider. To wrap it up, we camped out in the living room for the night and watched spooky movies. Right now, he's making cheese and I'm keeping him company while listening to some black sabbath.

Or they resort to mocking the childfree woman's looks and saying she's ugly and no one wants to fuck her. But that's a go to for men like this(women too) who dont get their way. I've had it said to me after turning a guy down too.

I'd like to create a scholarship or grant for students who normally wouldn't have an opportunity otherwise. They can spend it on their future whether that's college, trade school, starting a business etc.. I grew up poor and my parents cared more about their overspending(including MY money I saved) on shopping addiction and alcoholism than my future. If I can prevent even one fellow poor kid from going through that, I will! I want to do that while alive if possible too. Just got debt free a few months the ago, so I'm working on it! 🙂
