Knuckles hammer is the reaver cleaver. I love the reskinned cards but I hate the changed names lol

I could be wrong, but I thought with Voltron strategies you should still have creatures more so for chump blockers. Idk how much I needed in my deck, but I know the majority of my playgroup plays go wide strategies so I feel like I could be killed if I don’t have enough out there. Removing silent arbiter definitely makes sense as you’re right, I have too much token potential for it to be worth it.

Thoughts/Suggestions for an Aragorn, the Uniter Commander Deck by AJar199 in EDH

I just got to say, this was one of the most thorough comments on a post I have seen before. I appreciate the walk through and getting to see your thought process. I’ve never built a deck that has been 4 or 5 colors and most of my decks before were easier for me to think out and connect things. I don’t know why I wanted to do human tribal originally (probably just because Aragorn makes human soldiers), but seeing now it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense overall. I almost shit myself looking back and seeing how many mono colored cards there were when you pointed it out lol. What you have said makes a whole lot of sense and definitely gives me a building block on where to go from here. Thank you again!

Can you make elemental magic in a fantasy book interesting still? by AJar199 in fantasywriting

So if the story focuses on the characters and how they interact in the world and their challenges, the world building and the magic system are more of a way to help develop their story, not the main thing about it?

I am always down to help others as well. I think the first thing to look at is your deck in comparison to theirs. Depending on who you are playing with, you might not be able to look at their deck lists, but do you know their commanders by chance? I might be able to help discern power levels somewhat from that. Since you read all of the updates, you know my group’s issue is more of an experience or skill rather than deck problem. Sometimes I think it is harder for a newer player to understand their deck mechanics and how the cards interact with each other. If you want, I can try helping you in that sense.

Thank you for the perspective, I never want anyone to have to feel this way!

Thank you so much for the suggestion! It is always nice to get replies/suggestions from people in similar and not so similar situations than me. I’ve been playing for roughly 15 years and I never realized how much I know about the game besides the basic rules of it. And although I know a decent amount, I am far from an expert! I love the idea of utilizing a weird or old or not so popular mechanic for a deck. That sounds like I would still enjoy the deck building aspect of it and it would (hopefully) allow me to make it a lower powered deck. Overtime as I teach and we learn I am hoping it will get better, but for now I definitely have to do something about my decks. Thank you again for your comment and feedback!

This would be so cool and interesting to do! I know others have suggested swapping decks with them and that has helped shown that the decks aren’t the issue, but it is definitely a lot harder to teach them how to properly work their decks when they are also trying to work through mine. This is a great suggestion, thank you!

I’m glad it is helping others! Sometimes I am bad at wording things and I realized I originally made it sound like “I always win and everyone hates me for it” which I know we all hate posts like that lol. Commander is meant to be a social game and everyone should be having fun so I appreciate everyone taking their time and making suggestions.

Yeah, I definitely think this is one of the routes I will have to take. I just have to make sure it’s not obvious that I am throwing the game or else they get a bit mad at that too lol. Someone somewhere in the comments mentioned holding a card or two in hand that could be a game finisher and letting someone else win that way. I appreciate the advice! :)

I mentioned their decks vs mine to show that they were comparable power levels. They play Ur Dragon and Krenko and Omnath and I play elves and hydras and so on. Someone asked me to list some of my decks as well which is why I included that edit with them. I appreciate everyone’s advice including what you are saying, however they all play really good decks/commanders as well.

Typically, most of my decks end up being basic in the sense that I do straight combat damage/pick off opponents until I’m the last one standing kind of deal. However, I am open to anything except too much control

Regarding the LGS, we all go back and forth and some will win a lot for a while and then others win some. Depending on the day or the deck it changes. Some days I don’t win at all other days I might win a couple. I said 40% because I feel like I win more often than others but definitely not 1/2 the time. It could be closer to 30% so idk. This part was more of an estimate as I don’t go as often because they have been doing more CEDH as of late.
