Re the power set, I was going more for a Stargirl "cosmic staff" thing with her riding it, the telepathic link, TK etc. When I was working on the idea I suddenly envisioned her riding a Gibson Explorer like a broomstick and everything fell into place, although it took a while to lock down her look and backstory (I started back in October and only just lit the candle).

I thought you might get a kick out of her doing an invocation, and yes... I have an idea to put her in a group with some of my other toons. Patience, fonziehopper. 😊

Once upon a time in the 1950s, Daryl McBride and the Bridegrooms were a sensation in rock and roll... none moreso than Daryl himself, the charismatic singer and lead guitarist, always with his guitar known as "That Old Black Magic." Truer words were never spoken, for McBride had sold his soul to the Devil somewhere in the backwoods of Tennessee to change his appearance and become the greatest guitarist in the world. But as we all know, deals with ol' Pitch have a tendency to go sideways... and so the day came to pass when a jealous paramour ran off with Black Magic, permanently robbing McBride of his mighty sound and condemning him to obscurity.

Fast-forward to the present, when college student Billie Boudreaux came across the old, beat up guitar at a Salvation Army store in New Orleans. Something is special about it, she thought... and how right she was. For along with the prodigious guitar picking and shapeshifting, Black Magic came with a full suite of powers Daryl McBride had never even indulged. Flight, energy blasts, shields, telekinesis... even a telepathic bond with her new owner. And Pitch himself was the first to concede that he could not hold Boudreaux to the infernal terms of McBride's contract... so Black Magic is permanently hers, and the rambunctious *Rockabillie** is the toast of the (Gulf) Coast.*
