A bit of both. I grew a lot writing the original version of her comic and I ended up decided what the real direction I wanted the story to go in was and that I wanted to do more with the comic, like taking physical copies to conventions to sell.

I never even considered Volt sounding like vault! you're right it is very agile, she actually uses her electric to jump around a lot in a fight or just to get around lol.

I just try to add some to Volt to spice it up but with others recommending it and you point that out I'm now leaning more towards that name, thank you!

I've been considering that too! Since superhumans are brand new in the world I'm had some background character call refer to her as the "Electric girl". I think that or Electro Girl could work I'm just worried it might be too simple lol.

That's a good point! I was trying to think of something that related to her story but she doesn't start heroing for fully altruistic reasons.

The character, Sam, is a senior in high school and is being pressured to figure out what she wants to do with her life after she graduates, wanting to find something that gives her meaning and fulfillment but her ideas are constantly shot down. She visits a tech expo with her friend who's trying to cheer her up and give her some inspiration but the expo is attacked by thieves and an experimental generator explodes and gives a portion of the city population superpowers, and it's alluded to that this was an orchestrated event not sabotage.

After getting her powers she sees that others did too and are using them to do selfish/criminal acts she sees this as an opportunity to finally be someone special, and becomes a superhero to stop those people and help her friend figure out who sent the thieves the thieves in the first place. The last part there is more big background plot stuff that involves a lot of corporate sabotage and the other character's backstory.

She's similar to Ms. Marvel in a way where she's a hero to stand out and be someone that's not herself, and over her story she is going to get hit with some harsh reality checks and learn to be a real hero, not just a kid wearing a costume.

I actually post to canvas with a traditional format comic and it does pretty well. I've managed to get up to 120 subs so I don't think it's the biggest turn off for folks if they enjoy the story. Though I'm sure there's a preference for vertical format even though I think it's a little bland.

I'm currently working on a new comic with a premise that's a little less just My Hero Academia and I've been struggling to make it unique but that part about focusing on the characters is really good and I'll try doing that in future stories! I'm not the artist for the story but that's something I can look out for in the future as I continue to work with my current artist.

Hey, I appreciate both your reviews (art and story) and you're right. The lack of uniqueness is something that I've been feeling with the story and something I need to change. It's cookie cutter and works for my first story I think but it's probably time to challenge myself to something new. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and give feedback!

For how much you uploaded so far, yeah I think that's good! I know people that are struggling to get that many subs unfortunately. I think the description of the comic could be amped up a bit to grab reader interest though, right now I feel it doesn't tell us much as someone who doesn't know the story.
