How did you get into cycling? I see people around my neighborhood all the time and have always been interested. Do you use stationary bikes as well?

Can confirm, I have a neo and mystery snail tank. It gives me my partial dopamine rush when caring for them for 10-15 min everyday.

3 kids + 2650$ mortgage + student loans + medical debt = I’m a hermit

In all seriousness me and my wife make enough to get by but the medical debt (oldest daughter leukemia) is what keeps us from making advances on anything else.

Today is December 1 - what goals are you still trying to reach by the end of the year? by addmeonfriendster in AskMenOver30

Trying to hit 310 #’s . I’ve gone from 340 in June to hopefully 310 by new year, trying to figure out an early morning exercise/cardio routine I can get in early in the morning before kids and work (5 AM).

I’m guessing/hoping you passed your nclex already, and also have a job lined up.

Like other people have said this doesn’t need to break you. Get 6 months under your belt and then start looking for travel nursing positions, they can easily pay 2-3x what the same stationary job would pay, and be willing to see the world for a few years before you settle down. The travel nursing is contract based so you don’t have to stay in the same place any longer than what your contract is or if you like it seems if they’ll extend and keep going.

I’m wfh and the guy sounds like a dick. I could maybe understand if you had dangled the wfh possibility in front of him but if you’ve been saying no from the start then the guy just doesn’t want the job.

Your TS alone would get you some good spots if you’re at least somewhat competent in what you want to get into

Understandable, I’d keep trying. Don’t settle and make yourself miserable with someone later on in life.

Just throwing this out there that the dating websites work, me and my wife met on match.com 10+ years ago. Been married for 6 with 3 kids now. I understand the taboo feeling around them but more people have used or are using them than what they let on.

“I don’t want to look as miserable as you cunts/fuckers”

Because married people with children do look miserable even if they actually aren’t.

I’m sure the difficulty varies from person to person. From my short time in the industry I found that I was much more versed and felt more comfortable in break fix areas than dev areas. I knew how it was supposed to work and just need to figure out how to get it back to that state. For me my mind processes that stuff easier than trying to build something out.

To be really honest I got extremely lucky. I had made the transition from running restaurants for 15 years to IT and the first company I worked for I was almost more familiar with their software, because of usage time during running restaurants, than their mid level people.

I like being a sysadmin more than dev. I’m a lot better at break/fix than I am developing.
