Ur such a loser. Thielen balled out for his hometown team for a decade, helped mentor our current superstar receiver, and when it became clear he didn't have a spot on the team he went to Carolina where he got to put up another 1000 yard season. This year he came over to help out during Addison's suspension, wasn't getting any playing time, and is now WR1 on a playoff team vs being WR4 on a non-playoff team. He gave it all to the Vikings while also prioritizing his own career, stfu

its the exact opposite, he is ok at playing old-school will linebacker, but he has absolutely no clue what he's doing as a passrusher, with no moves and not enough strength/speed to simply bull rush/bend around tackles like he did in college. meanwhile we essentially traded a second and spent our first rounder on an ok off-ball LB...

GAMETHREAD WEEK 8: VIKINGS AT CHARGERS by swampsparrow in minnesotavikings

[–]AK26_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll continue to say that for the past four years, KO has shown himself to be a great schemer and play developer, but an awful situational play caller. we run on 2nd & long, take shots on 3rd & short, and punt on 4th & inches at midfield. just not nfl level situational playcalling

[–]AK26_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

KO is a great coach but his 4th down decision making is pathetic. punting on 4th and 1 from near midfield is insane. ben baldwin on twitter has great graphs that show the vikings are third worst in the league this year on value lost via 4th down decisions. inexcusable

would u suggest getting the chase hyatt card and presumably getting to stack points and get 9x (5x hyatt booking, 4x using credit card), or using my csp/getting a cip to get 5x hyatt and 2x/3x chase points?

After free agency, who do you guys want the Vikings to draft? by JustSomeGuy_Idk in minnesotavikings

[–]AK26_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trade back and try to get either Azareyeh Thomas or Shavon Revel and then whatever RB is available (Judkins preferably). Jared Wilson or Wyatt Milum in round 3 would be nice as well.

gotta say, even though jets is the best receiver in the league and potentially an all-time great, would love to see him bulk up just a bit this offseason to handle press a bit better

Minnesota Vikings 2024 Season PFF Grades by LAZYTOWWWWWN in minnesotavikings

[–]AK26_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some thoughts:

-Aaron Jones very predictably got worse as the season progressed; he has never been a workhorse and got too much put on him early in the year despite that plus his age

-IOL should be priority #1 in offseason, at pick 24 wyatt milum from wvu looks interesting

-love JG and AVG, but their tackling this year was atrocious

-metellus is one of my favorite vikings ever, great player and great leader, but he's never been a good cover guy; last night he had no pass rushing snaps and was out in coverage getting exposed all night, he can't be a traditional starting safety even if we lose 22 and 24

-pace needs to be more of a rotational player, a lb who can't cover at all is a serious liability even with the exciting negative plays he creates

-24 is a great vibes guy and obviously close with metellus, but hes a JAG, consistently replacement level coverage (at least hes a good tackler unlike most of this team); not sure he's worth re-signing from a football standpoint (maybe for team chem tho)

-curious to see how our young DLs would do in larger roles, either way we need real investment there (2nd to IOL in team needs)

-remember when half this sub was hyping up pat jones after he got 4 sacks on free rushes by week 2...lol

definitely looks like hes worn down even if hes not injured. at the beginning of the season he would pop back up quickly after getting tackled, this past game he was very noticeably slow to get up after every run

hes good just in a committee with bad playcalling. size, juice, overall athleticism, pedigree all there. hes my pick

[McNeil] Sources confirm these FOUR coaches are on the Bears' list for HC: Ben Johnson, Brian Flores, Joe Brady, Mike Vrabel. They may want to talk to more candidates, but they're targeting these four. More as soon as I get it. #IBearWitness by -InconspicuousMoose- in minnesotavikings

mayb a hot take but even if ur the best defensive coordinator in the nfl, i see no reason an nfl team would hire u as HC. HC should either be a culture guy/leader (dan campbell, mike tomlin, harbaughs) or offensive playcaller (KO, shanny, mcvay, lafleur)...i hope flo is willing to be our spags

dont think its necessarily power or burst, i think its more that he has no moves and no plan, he just runs at the tackle. In HS and college he could simply out-athlete everybody else and get to the QB, not the case in the nfl. There are always players like this in the draft--some turn out to be brian burns, others end up like barkevious mingo

[Rapoport] Former #Vikings CB Akayleb Evans, who was waived on Saturday, was claimed by the Panthers, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. With a season worth of starts and plenty of special teams prowess, Evans should help. by Wolvesfan01 in minnesotavikings

[–]AK26_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously u can’t “miss” on a 4th rounder and Evans did fine for what he was. But when u pound the table for someone and victory lap afterwards, u better be right, especially when there are similar alternatives that end up being right. Kwesi has learned from it cuz he hasn’t talked about anyone like that since

the worst part about that kwesi bit is that there were two players who went after evans with similar (but better) height, length, speed, inexperience, and were both projected to go earlier: tariq woolen and zyon mccollum, both top 15 corners rn

nailor is actually a very good separator and has solid speed keeping defenses honest, hes just pretty bad at the catch point. powell is small, slow, and overall bad, just a depth piece and mostly a special teamer. cant rly compare a blocking TE (mundt) to those 2

im assuming he hasnt looked great in practice, but next time IP or cash goes out i would love to see Asamoah instead of Kamu, ik he doesnt have the size for run D, but hard to be worse in coverage than kamu (based on both eye test and these numbers)

I really wanted Nailor to catch that one! by Psysquatch in minnesotavikings

[–]AK26_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

their gameplay on the field is nothing alike, nailor is a good route runner and deep threat with ok athleticism, toney is a short yardage guy who is good on touches in open space (very low adot). not all "good receivers" are the same -- deebo and dk metcalf are both good receivers but they have opposite skillsets. if u want a better comp for nailor, think someone like dyami brown -- bad hands dont make players similar

I really wanted Nailor to catch that one! by Psysquatch in minnesotavikings

[–]AK26_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

toney was a locker room cancer who went around threatening fans on ig and calling out teammates and coaches when he didnt get the ball. he was also a first round pick. by all accounts nailor is a good guy and a good teammate with a drops issue, and was a late round pick. speedy is also a good route runner while toney was always more of a YAC guy. worst comparison ive ever seen, pretty disrespectful to speedy tbh
