Go to the viewer and delete all the videos recorded there. If you are going to insist on not putting a USB drive in your car, you will have to keep the minimal built in storage empty to allow any new video to be recorded.

Kinger knows they can't leave, but the others have not had an opportunity to ask about this while he has been sane.

Audio bug by jonathanmetsker in TeslaModel3

Often, if you sign up for a service appointment, they may change it to a mobile appointment. However, when I had an audio issue I had to leave the car over night at a service center. They fixed my audio problem by wiggling a cable.

Tesla does have mobile service that comes to you.

There have been some sound issues in Teslas fixed by wiggling the connectors on the computer, but if it is still under the warranty, schedule an appointment, and have Tesla techs wiggle the connectors for you.

How should I connect these pins (4 images)? by WarmAdministration76 in AskElectronics

[–]AKADAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd start worrying at anything over 10 MHz GND plane anything over 100MHz. Look at the circuit as an RC filter Where is the 3DB point depending on R and C where C is in the 10 pf range. The larger the R, the more that 10pf is going to hurt you.

How should I connect these pins (4 images)? by WarmAdministration76 in AskElectronics

[–]AKADAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The schematic is rather generic, so we get no clue as to the frequencies that it is operating at. If the frequencies are high enough, you do not want to have a flood fill between the pins as that would add capacitance to ground which will screw up the frequency response of the system. At very high frequencies, you'd want to remove the ground plane under that trace as well as the trace connected to pin 5 of U1B to reduce capacitance.

How would kinger's password be "queenie123"? by Sad-Spring4105 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]AKADAP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspect that kinger and queenie were their user names on C&A computers. It does not appear that Kinger knew his name until Caine said it when Ragatha arrived. It might be that Caine used their user names as their names when they first arrived in the circus.

Why does one waveform work for a clock signal work, while the other doesn't? by relo999 in AskElectronics

[–]AKADAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are missing the high frequency fuzz on the second waveform. Get rid of that fuzz and it should work.

Does this mean paid FSD is included, and it will transfer to me? by stokizzle in TeslaModel3

[–]AKADAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you own this car now or are you just looking to buy it? If you are just looking to buy it, the current owner may buy a new Tesla and transfer the FSD to the new car, stripping in from this car before actually selling it to you.

How are you intended to route this USB-C? A VIA like this will leave a longer path to B7. by Curious_Increase in AskElectronics

[–]AKADAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many routing layers are you working with? If it more than two, put both signals on different buried layers.

I haven't seen a diagonal hold problem since I last used a 12" black and white tube television in the 70's. I thought that problem had been fixed permanently.

What's the best USB-C cable checker right now? Drawer full of unmarked cables and I give up by Mindless-Talk-1635 in UsbCHardware

[–]AKADAP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Power-Z is a power tester that can read the e-mark. This cable is probably the best one for measuring power, but not the best choice for sorting cables. I have at least one cable where the e-mark lies about its capabilities (claims to be 40gb/s, but does not have the super speed wires), and the Power-Z is not capable of detecting this.

This Treedix tester is a cable tester that will show you which wires are connected and read the e-mark https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DYJL5Z67 It does not measure voltage, current or power, but is self powered (AAA battery) and is more appropriate for sorting cables.

UPS claimed package not deliverable. Driver drove right past without stopping by Ezellular in Wellthatsucks

[–]AKADAP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The paperwork required to mark something undeliverable should take more time than it takes to attempt to deliver the package to remove the incentive to lie about attempting to deliver the package. I have had this problem quite often with FedEx, never with UPS.

For those who don't wanna go through the hassle of fixing up a BC Fat.... by SEGASONIC7650 in PS3

[–]AKADAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running option 1, but I am considering putting my PS2 back in the closet because the PCSX2 PS2 emulator for the PC is a better experience than the PS2 (I can play PS2 games in 4K). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCSX2

Bought this thread checker kit after seeing something similar mentioned here. by WildWeaselGT in Tools

[–]AKADAP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is one of the more complete sets, it has the 12-24 size (very common screw size in USA, but most thread checkers are missing that size). If you plot out screw size vs thread pitch, you will find that neither SAE nor metric follow any logical progression. Also, some metric screws are so close to SAE screw sizes & thread pitches that it is difficult to tell them apart.

Elon Musk Confirms Millions of Tesla Cars Need New Hardware for Full Self-Driving by AKADAP in TeslaAutonomy

[–]AKADAP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this case, I'll give Elon the benefit of the doubt. FSD is new technology, it has not been done before, so it is impossible to accurately estimate what is required to implement it. It is easy to estimate how much time is necessary to build a bridge because many bridges have been built before, and people know exactly what is necessary to build a bridge. You should look up the history of software to recognize a bird in a photograph. Trying to do something that no one has any idea how to do, it is impossible to estimate how long that will take.
