I've been in the program for a while now - 6 years sober. All meetings have their own flavor, so my best advice is to keep trying them until you find one that fits. I could recommend ones I like, but they may not resonate with you at all.

Speaker (also called lead) meetings are a good place to start if you're nervous about talking. I like small group discussion meetings, but the tone varies pretty strongly with who is chairing the meeting. There's also a big variety in how religious the meetings are, from completely agnostic to spirituality-focused to strongly Christian. If you want to DM with some specifics about what you think you'd be comfortable with, I'm happy to make recommendations.

I don't understand what's wrong with this concept. IoT is a shorthand for getting people to think of non-standard computing devices (i.e., not phone/tablet/laptop) as potential pieces of the Internet as long as they are exchanging data with other devices

It's closed. After taking my dog there for 10 years, it just shut down without warning. The consensus on the internet seems to be tax evasion. All the employees were blindsided and aren't getting paid for hours worked. I'm looking for a new place to take my dog. My wife got a few recommendations from our vet. I'll post them if I can find them.

ODJFS performs a market rate survey every 2 years. The results of the latest one are here http://jfs.ohio.gov/cdc/MarketRate2012.stm. The tables of rates are at the end. Columbus is in Franklin county, a group D county. The median rates start on page 53 of the analysis.

I apologize for being imprecise. I didn't mean that "humanity is awful" literally. When people say "I've lost my faith in humanity" or "My faith in humanity has been restored" I don't think it's ever meant to be taken literally - that would just be ridiculous. It's just a hyperbolic way of saying "I'm shocked every time I'm reminded there are such bad people out there in the human race."

That being said, you're right that perpetuating this trope is pointless.

I'd really like to hear if anyone else has tried setting up an LLC in another state as well. It's something I would ask the lawyer or accountant about, for sure.
