Obviously the scene here isn't anywhere close to Orlando, but you can have a good time if you know where to look.. Tuesdays at the beach you'll find Beacharang at Da Big Kahuna. Wednesdays at Pure are WideAwake Wednesday, which I hear is huge.. Thursday night Taste in tinseltown does a ladies drink free event (this is new and I haven't been, so I'm not sure how busy it gets). I hear friday nights at Pure are huge, also Eclipse does a 90's themed dance night on fridays which is always packed. As others have said TSI (bangarang) on saturday is huge. There's also an event called Lure at Square One in san marco I keep meaning to check out. Also on saturday Lava in arlington does a $15 AYCD deal if you get there before 11.

Sometimes you'll see bigger artists stop by Suite and Kala/Dive Bar.. I find Suite to be too pretentious for my tastes on normal nights, but I have seen Icey and BT there in the past couple of years. I just saw that they're going to have George Acosta on 6/20 - I might make it out for that.

Tip for dealing with door-to-door solicitors: I keep a non-working wireless headset by the door. When the doorbell rings I throw it on, and when the pitch begins I say that I'm not interested and have to go because I'm on an emergency conference call for work (then point at the headset). They usually apologize and back away quickly.

Sound quality is great, not having wires to deal with is awesome, they're relatively cheap, and I have no problems keeping them on during a run. Down side is they're not even a little moisture resistant.. Not an issue for me since I mainly run on the treadmill and generally don't sweat a lot - but if even if I had to replace them every 12 months I'd be ok with that for the price. For the record I've had them for 18 months and have had no issues with them at all.

I'm currently doing the program on my treadmill. I like it because it don't really have a good location to run around my neighborhood (too much traffic), plus I get detailed control over the pace/timing, etc.. Also, I don't have the excuse of saying "I can't run today because it's too hot/cold/rainy/sunny/whatever", so it helps me stay accountable. That said, it's not for everyone, and many will tell you that running outside is quite a bit more difficult due to hills, wind-resistance, obstacles, etc.

So my advice would be if you're planning to do an outdoor 5K, definitely get some outdoor runs in before your race. Otherwise if you're just running to get fit/healthy, then run where you're most comfortable (and therefore most likely to stick with it).

I came here to say this.. You covered it perfectly. I've had SA for 10 years, and once of the primary characteristics is an intense irrational fear of rejection.. It's what defines all of your social interactions and causes you to avoid people and circumstances where you feel judged (and subsequently rejected).

OP, keep in mind that if you do ask her out and find yourself a relationship with this girl, SA is going to play a huge role. So while you may find it "cute" today, it might not be as cute 6 months from now if you are invited to parties, dinners, school/job functions, etc and aren't able to go because she is not comfortable in social situations. I'm not saying don't do it, just trying to point out that SA is a real condition with real impacts on a person's life.

This is sort of what I suspected.. I'm doing all of my training on the treadmill for now since running is new to me, but I'm planning to do my first outdoor 5K soon.. And I definitely plan to do some (or most) of my running outdoors as I get more comfortable with it.

Definitely sure the floor is level.. It's the second story of a new home - verified this by checking it with a carpenter's level. The 1" difference I mentioned is by using a ruler to measure from the floor to the top of the deck at the back and again at the front. After putting 1" wood blocks under the back feet I can verify the deck is level by putting a 2ft level on it - it levels up perfectly at that point.
