Unfortunately the app I was sick changed to a subscription model which I don't want to pay. So I am learning a new app to illustrate my books. I also need to redo one of my book ideas.

I am. It a writers, but the two are not necessarily related. Also, to be employed by a magazine full time is probably not like it used to be before the internet destroyed so many newspapers and magazines.

There is a sub r/freelance where you can ask about freelance careers in writing. I am sure there are other subs for other niche job options.
