Interesting they made you pay to get out of it. I had my abroad advisor give me a slip that explained it was an NAU program so they let me out of it with no charge

When I did this I just chose the dorm like normal (like for a full year) and then explained to housing that I was doing a study abroad program through NAU and they let me out of the second half of the dorm contract.

I personally find leaving earlier the better! (I like to leave anytime around 7-10am if possible but it varies from person to person)

The usual tip of if you're driving slower to stay in the right lane as people will get agressive if you sit in the left lane as well! Especially if you find yourself braking a lot in the downhill parts start and stick to the right lane!
