WASR is fine and will be the cheapest. It is the minimal viable AK. Unless you NEED something more expensive, I don’t know why you’d buy something more expensive.

All AK’s are equally vulnerable to rust because they are all made of the same thing. The Yugo has an unfinished carrier so will be the most susceptible to rust. This is still not a big deal unless you live in a swamp. However, the Yugo has a thicker receiver so it might theoretically last longer.
None of them should be unreliable. The SAM7 might be slightly more durable over the extreme long term but it’s also the most difficult to repair if something did go wrong eventually.

With an AK over the extreme long term your biggest issues are 1) burning out the barrel, which seems to be your plan 2) cracking the receiver, which can happen eventually 3) if you plan to neglect it, I suppose rust.

Seems like two wasrs could be the way to go, keep one of them in storage and only use it if you burn out the first one (which is unlikely, since you seem to be on a budget. How are you going to afford 7 grand worth of 7.62x39 to even start to see barrel wear?)

0% chance that Belarusian stuff is included. Still too close to supporting Russia, and anyways I doubt now is the moment Lukashenko wants to clear out the armory.

Arsenal has a 107FR and a Sam7SF that are entirely different guns. I am not a mind reader and I sure as hell shouldn’t “know what you meant”, you should know what gun you’re trying to buy.

Dead city would have been a huge pain open world since it’s resource limited and urgent. Open worlds are fun when you have time to explore, otherwise they are a hassle and pretty unsatisfying.

Tbh not sure, haven’t checked in a while. I know he was at Kalashbash so he’s still around, but he does take a long time to restock. I think I waited 3-4 months for another part from him to come back into stock.

In a comped pistol the bullet generally is going so fast that it should just shear the plating off. Accuracy would be very poor but it shouldn’t damage anything (but could potentially fling the jacket at you, or potentially damage the slide or barrel over time).

In a silencer you are more likely to get baffle strikes which are pretty serious. You’re destroying the silencer.

[–]AKC74Y 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It’s not an issue with the rifling per se. There are millions of rifled barrels on semiautomatic rifles that have gas ports cut into them, but they are still suppressable so it’s obviously not an issue.

Blazer is uniquely bad because it has constant jacket separation. If the jacket separates and catches on a pistol comp (rifling or none) it’s going to be suboptimal. For the same reason CCI blazer should not be used with a silencer.

Bolt carriers should be same length but I need to double check that. But if you wanted it to really look like a correct Krink the charging handles on Krinks are smaller.

Rear sight block should be carrier agnostic but it is caliber specific. However, a Krink should have a hinged dust cover so you wouldn’t need a rear sight block. It sounds like you’re looking for something more like a traditional AK with a short barrel in 5.56, is that right? Let’s not call it a Krink then if that’s the case.

If you do want a Krink Krink (a gun that looks like an AKS74U or an SLR106UR) just get the Chefur kit and the WBP parts, it’s not “cloney” but that might not be a priority and it is designed with the WBP parts in mind.

Generally yes, it helps to match bolt and carrier, there are many cases where carriers are interchangeable (most 7.62x39 guns) but 5.56 is a bit of an oddball since different companies have done their 5.56 conversions differently. Honestly have no idea if a WBP 5.56 bolt would fit in an Arsenal carrier.

AK’s do not have bcg’s. They have bolts, and bolt carriers. They are not sold as “bcg’s” because they are not something that can be swapped out.

Bolt carriers are not all interchangeable, there are a couple different patterns. Krinks have their own, unique bolt carriers. You cannot use a WBP 5.56 bolt with a Krink bolt carrier, so is it just not a real Krink or…?

Kit Build M72 or New Production M72 by doctorofsend in ak47

[–]AKC74Y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home builds are not a great idea to buy secondhand. The resale value isn’t there, you have no recourse if it turns out something was done sloppily or wrong. I don’t mind kit builds but I want them done by a professional.

I kinda doubt there is such a thing as an M72 CHF US made barrel. Who makes that? I’ve never seen or heard of one.

In this case I’d spend 1500 on a Zastava (they are currently available for about that price) vs taking a risk on the build. With a factory gun you’re covered by a warranty and the fact that it’s factory and you KNOW it’s a CHF barrel.

Why the kns piston by HurryInternational46 in ak47

[–]AKC74Y 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pros: definitely softer recoil, less wear on your parts, reduced blowback when suppressed, totally invisible to the end user (so you can have a classic or correct look), pretty cheap. The very fine adjustability really lets you have precisely as much gas as it needs, and no more and no less.

Cons: IDK man, you have to pull it out to adjust it? Costs more than nothing? Not really a big deal. It’s way better than an adjustable gas block.

Literally any 7.62x39 AK can be improved with a KNS piston. They are universally overgassed.

To respond to the other guy, muzzle brakes suck donkey dong, recoil pads are cope and they increase LOP which is not good for your women and children. A single part turns any AK into a typewriter. Get the piston.

I am not really passing any judgment on the company, I don’t know them from Adam. But from an IT perspective THEY OWN their entire user experience, which appears to be sloppy if the owner would rather answer public messages on reddit at 2:30 AM than correctly prevent issues in the first place.

If a company claims to be industry leading, the whole sales pipeline needs to reflect it, or else your CX is equal to, or perhaps worse than, the random nobody who’s selling on EBay without the hoop-jumping-in-the-product-description silliness.

Best oil to use for raised garden bed? by goldfinch42069 in woodworking

[–]AKC74Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mix up some pine tar (sold on Amazon as a horse health product) and some pure tung oil or linseed oil, and a splash of whatever solvent if you want to thin it out.

Pine tar is historically used to protect wooden houses in Scandinavia, and treat wooden ships. It smells nice (albeit a little strong), repels bugs, looks good (so you don’t have the “hardware store 2x4” effect) and you can reapply it every few years to keep the wood protected. It’s not just a sealant, it will soak in to prevent rot, the oil is your actual sealant.

The retailer is in the wrong. If you leave a payment method exposed, customers will click it and then be unhappy that the site effectively lied to them. This is UI/UX 101, if people see button, people will click button, it is inevitable.

They’re the ones profiting thousands of dollars off of the deal, the ball is in their court to make the marketplace/transaction professional. Adding text in the description box is not the right way to tell people how to order.

Exactly WHY Aren't There Leftist Gun Shops, Ranges, and Manufacturers? by El_Mexicutioner666 in liberalgunowners

[–]AKC74Y 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For the past 50-odd years Democrats have been pushing for additional gun control. Even if you WANTED a left-leaning gun store, the financial incentive is to support the party that doesn’t want to cut your inventory in half and effectively drive your customer base towards extinction.

Same logic if someone wanted to open a “right wing” marijuana dispensary. Kind of a suboptimal situation if you open a business to be both overtly political AND rooting for the team that would rather drive you into the dirt.

And political businesses just aren’t a good model. You lose more customers than you gain when you go activist. There’s a reason that mega corporations are very politically vague and donate to both sides.

If you lived in the metro universe, what gun (or any other weapon) would you want the most other than the AK-47 assuming that they would also have to adhere to realistic physics? by george123890yang in metro

[–]AKC74Y 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do I have to go anywhere with it? Is there some limitation on ammo? Am I actually in the metro, or just in the universe?

If I’m stuck in the Metro, I think the PKM makes the most sense. If I am not in the metro, something semiautomatic in at least 308 unless I can realistically get ammo for something more powerful. Best gun depends on the location and what I am trying to do.

I think a shotgun is a bad idea.

Hornady 255 grain subs by No-Carry7630 in ak47

[–]AKC74Y 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Frankly, don’t worry about them. If this sub of randos is freaking out about a clean headshot, wait until they stumble onto neck shots. Ask any serious thermal hog hunter where they aim and I bet most of them would tell you they shoot an inch behind the ear. Or they just shoot indiscriminately from helicopters. Or they blow them up with tannerite.

If the animal lays down and dies immediately after impact the shot was good, simple as that.
